Summary: Beautifully restored building in the old city. Place is in immaculate condition. Super friendly staff. Very convenient - lots of restaurants, cafes, bars steps away and only about a 15 min walk from the ferry terminal. Note - as it’s an old building, there is no elevator for those who may like to travel with more luggage or have mobility issues.

Summary: Tasteful, central but quiet, genuine warm hospitality, the perfect boutique hotel. Thank you Geronimo and Natalia for all your kindness! If I could give 10 stars I would and it would be deserved. This is the place to stay in the old city! Also go to the wonderful cafe Atelier Castellano across the street!

Summary: Fauna is THE place to stay in Old Town Montevideo. Jeronimo and staff are first class, and they truly go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. The hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. It is central to everything that is Old Town. We have traveled around the world and The Fauna is one of the best we have enjoyed.

Summary: The staff were very helpful and friendly, including Nancy who checked me in. The hotel has a great vibe, comfortable space near the front desk to relax and read, and have a complimentary whiskey. The shower had great water pressure and nice, hot water. WiFi was good, tv had complimentary Netflix if that’s your thing. Good location if you want to stay in Ciudad Vieja; right near the crossroads of the two main pedestrian-only streets with lots of cafes within a five minute walk (or less). The cafe right across the street has good espresso and medialunas as well. I would definitely stay again.

Summary: Warm, inviting place with great mid-century modern charm. Very friendly and helpful staff. Super clean. Best value in Montevideo’s Cuidad Vieja and beyond by far. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Summary: Excellent experience! Warm welcoming, beautiful and charming hotel with comfortable and quiet rooms, well located in old Montevideo, next to the port. Geronimo was very helpful in fixing our car rental problem. Highly recommended!

Summary: A gorgeous, jaw dropping hotel! The area around the hotel is very busy and honestly, somewhat unkept. We expected a little more out of this section of Montevideo. Still, it is very easy to access the BUQUE BUS terminal and the main bus terminal from here. The hotel itself is gorgeous and in stunning condition, with amazing, friendly staff. Again, we were disappointed with the area surrounding the hotel, but that is on us. The hotel itself is absolutely impeccable.
