Positive: Incredible views of Forio, the island, and the sea stretching westward. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Very peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable. Unique experience of staying in a functioning lighthouse.
Negative: Pool was very basic, which could be overlooked but for the constant presence of mosquitoes and an exposed rusty nail which the staff seemed relatively uninterested in addressing. Breakfast was lovely but the food served in the set tasting menu dinner was disappointing - the chef clearly has talent but on the night we sat down to dinner I sense he was over ambitious in the flavours and dishes he was preparing. Bathroom had plenty of amenities (sewing kit, shaving kit, dental kit) but was missing body lotion and conditioner which seem like basics at a hotel so premium. The markup we paid on everything organised through the hotel was noticeable and I began to resent it - €18 for an aperol spritz, €25 per day for a scooter (which had to be returned at 9am on the last day, but still incurred €25 daily charge), €30 taxi to Poiseidon Gardens when the taxi from Porto Forio to the hotel cost €17. We came to Ischia for our honeymoon and ultimately the hotel was a disappointment for the price we paid and experience we expected.
Summary: Pay a premium for an unforgettable view and an average experience.

Positive: The location the room and the view were beautiful.
Negative: It was lovely, attention to a few finer details regarding cleanliness and organisation, but that is really just scratching for feedback, we enjoyed our stay enormously.

Positive: This was a stunning property with stunning location. The staff and manager were wonderful and so kind and helpful, both with the place itself and tips for our trip locally. The food was amazing and it was a wonderful escape. We would love to come back.

Positive: The location is spectacular, peaceful and the hotel, which is a working lighthouse, is unique. The rooms are lovely.The staff is keen to please. Look out for Franco the resident seagull.
Negative: Read the instructions you will be sent before you arrive (unlike us!). You can easily get a taxi from Forio ferry port to the hotel (or the other ports on the island, but they are further away) but there are 160 steps to get down to the hotel from where the road gives out. There is a luggage lift, so be sure to telephone reception in advance to get someone to meet you and operate this for you. The buses around the island are cheap and frequent, but the walk to the bus stop is 2.2 km. We liked the challenge, but you need either to be reasonably fit or hire a car/scooter/electric bike. The Forio bar half way is a good watering hole.

Negative: See above plus impossible 156 very deep dangerous steps but once achieved each day most wonderful allday walks Lack of quiet ie noisy bad discomusic hours at a time in hallways and outside...astonishingly against advertised quiet and peace....then total beautiful hours of silence...as meant...exhilarating heavrnly days
