Summary: The Fantastic Hotel was unlike any hotel I have ever stayed in. First, the Plus side: the taxi ride from the airport cost $ 25 USD. The gentleman working the front desk was exceptionally pleasant in English, French and Spanish. I got to meet his wife and kids and they were all very nice. The hotel was exceptionally quiet, the pool was very clean and refreshing. The elevator was very fast and quiet – my room # 305 was quite small, but adequate, with a queen-size bed, table with 2 chairs, small fridge, and small bathroom. It was a simple, slightly downhill 25 minute walk to downtown, past houses, a couple of schools and a sports complex; a pleasant stroll. I felt safe in the daytime and at night. On the Minus side: There was no service at the hotel except housekeeping – which was very good – but you couldn’t get any food or drink at all, even though there were signs indicating otherwise. All in all – the hotel, location, etc was a good choice for me as I like to explore places on foot. It is definitely not a tourist hot spot, but was good value for the $ 125 a night I paid. Don’t let anyone tell you they exchange USD at par with the Euro in Marigot. Everywhere I went the rate ranged from 1:15 to 1:21 USD per Euro. Would I return to the Fantastic Hotel? As a single traveller I would, but if my wife came I would stay closer to the downtown area.

Summary: Clean room, staff was helpful, air-conditioning was very nice and you cannot hear it. Very silent room was very nice and cool. I had a microwave refrigerator, which is great just for myself.

Summary: I had a pleasant stay at Oyster Bay. The rooms are very spacious, clean and offer a comfortable time-share style experience, with nice views overlooking the pond. The resort overall is well maintained, and housekeeping stood out for being consider y polite and friendly. The pool area is a highlight—calm, relaxing and a great place to unwind. The drinks were very good, and a special mention to Gregory at the bar, who was kind, helpful, and added to the overall experience. While the bar food was decent, some options felt a bit basic. The location is quiet and well suited for relaxation. During my stay, there was quite a bit of seaweed and wind, which made swimming from the beach difficult. However, this is not the fault of the resort, as they are clearly making an effort to clean the beach daily using large machines. Another positive aspect was the overall crowd—this is not a party-type resort, but rather attracts guests looking to relax, which adds to the peaceful atmosphere. If there is one area for improvement, it would be the front desk, which could feel a bit more welcoming at times. Additionally, while the stay was enjoyable, some may feel it does not fully align with the price point, depending on their priorities.

Summary: We stayed here four nights before catching a sailing ship. While not luxurious, this hotel was perfect for our needs. The decor was dated but everything in the room was clean. Sheets clean. The mattress was a little firmer than I prefer but fine for short term. No hot water in the kitchen sink or bathroom sink but the hot water and water pressure in shower were wonderful. Daily maid service. Kitchenette had cups, plates, utensils. Bring your own coffee. We brought cone fillets but there were some in room. Fridge kept things cold. No I’ve machine on floor but when asked the clerk got me a small ice bucket full. The pool was clean and refreshing. Desk clerks responded quickly to any requests. It is in a neighborhood. The Marigot market is 0.8 miles away to walk. It took a couple of tries to find best, quickest route. From front door - turn right for a cute bakery open till 6p. From front door go left to a grocery store with plenty of snacks, drinks. Go left to walk to town and follow road to main thoroughfare, go left, then right at Rue de Republic. Then straight to waterfront, market and restaurants. We pulled our suitcases to waterfront to catch boat. It was bumpy but fine. You could take a taxi. Probably 10 euro.
