Great for large familys. Or individual families.
Has its own private terrace straight off the gite, so guests can enjoy the unspoilt views.
The gite is totally individual so family's are not on top of each other and should feel relaxed to enjoy there holiday to the max.
There are animals on site, so guests are able to feed our donkeys, sheep and chickens.
The gites are situated in the grounds of the Chateau.
The owners live in the Chateau full time, so are always on tap to help with most things.

Summary: Will and Karen were most gracious hosts going above and beyond to make my daughter's birthday memorable. The property was stunning, every care was thought of for all personas and holiday types. Simply amazing, would thoroughly recommend and have done already! Will be back!!

Summary: Surprising lay out in a spacious, modern design gite, next to Chateau Montoussel. Great welcoming from Wil, lot of room, light, refreshing modern design/vide layout and decoration. Well stocked with kitchen equipment, linnen etc. Great pool and lovely setting on the hill.

Summary: We had a great time in Hopkins gite as a family of three with a 1 yr old and a family of four with a 5 and 2 yr old. We visited local market towns, had a picnic by lac st ferreol and enjoyed just pottering around the property. There’s a short circular walk from the gites with views across rolling countryside. The fenced swimming pool looked inviting had the weather been a bit warmer! We enjoyed eating out on the sunny decking. There was a warm welcome on arrival and the owners were there if needed throughout our stay. All in all we would thoroughly recommend chateau de Montoussel. Thank you for a relaxing week!

Summary: This was my first time traveling to French countryside. I went with my daughter’s family including two 7-year-old twins. We stayed at the Hopkins Gite for 5 nights. We all agreed that we could skip Paris where we stayed 3 days. Because of the delay of our train from Paris to Toulouse, we arrived at Will’s place late at night. Having Will’s warm greetings and seeing the spacious, clean, and country style gite, we immediately had our enthusiasm back after 12 hours on the road. As I opened my bedroom window the next morning. I breathed in fresh and sweet air. I saw the expansive beautiful rolling hills under the warm sunrise and heard sounds of birds, doves, roosters, and dogs. At night, I did star gazing. I could live here! The gite is so convenient for us to visit the planned attractions such as Carcassonne, Space Center, the cave., etc. The country roads leading to these places and the cute little passing or visiting villages are absolutely a joy to experience. Thanks Will for your warm hospitality and the amazing life stories you had shared with us. Thanks Matilda for sharing your study and life in the countryside. What a treat to have us visit your chickens and donkeys on the night before we trip home. I have rented quite a few vacation homes through the years. This is my BEST experience ever.

Summary: I really wanted to write a review about my stay in Hopkins gite at the beginning of October 2018. This was my third time staying here. We usually come in summer but we decided to try a different time of the year. It was stunning aswell. Will and Karen couldn't have been more helpful, with the fabulous skill of not being intrusive at all. My girls and I felt very comfortable in the newly refurbished Hopkins gite , its a gold theme, (which we loved) Decorated to a very high standard, really quiet and stunning views. St Felix which is around 7 minutes away is very French and has 2 fantastic restaurants and bars, its steeped in history and you get immersed in a full on french experience . The Chateau is far enough away from the gites to have privacy with its own pool, stunning views and rolling countryside. The sunflowers are out in August by the way and well worth the trip just to see these. We feel like here is home from home, we never want to leave. We will be back and especially want to visit Sorez that has its famous Jazz festival. thanks for everything Will and Karen, Mandy x

Summary: This was our third time staying at the Wonderful Chateaux De Montausel , having previously stayed in the summer months , october didn’t disappoint and was equally amazing and the weather still beautiful, This time we stayed in the Mutley Gite , tastefully decorated , fresh and clean , with the most amazing four poster bed ! Will and Karen our wonderful Hosts welcomed us back and as always made us feel so at home , nothing is ever too much trouble , always on hand if needed for anything at all .... last year when we came they picked up it was our wedding anniversary and after recommending one of the local restaurants , when we arrived home there was a bottle of chilled champagne waiting for us as a surprise .. it’s those personal touches that are so special There are so many wonderful places to visit in the surrounding area , I must recommend St Felix which is 5 minutes away. A stunning village in the hills with a wonderful boulangerie that sells every type of bread. There’s also 2 typically French cafes /restaurants full of interesting characters This quaint village is steeped in history. Revel Saturday market is a must too! It was voted in the top 5 Best Markets in France. I can see why, it was stunning! Bustling with people enjoying all the fresh produce, spices, cheeses, etc. Amazing cafes in the spectacular sq for people watching. When you have done all you want to do , the Gites are perfect to be able to relax in the peaceful surroundings , with the use of an outdoor pool too , plenty of lovely walks with beautiful scenery .. I cannot reccomend enough , cannot wait to go back this year . It is truly an amazing destination.

Summary: Thank you Will and Karen for a another lovely relaxing two weeks. This was our third Stay and it has gone too quickly, again. It is our home from home. From the moment you arrive the hospitality is exceptional. We have had the pleasure in staying in all three gites with our two children. The gites are light and airy, well equipped and very comfy. Lazing by the pool, playing table tennis or just enjoying the peace and quite from the hammock. What more could you ask for. The views are stunning from the balcony's so making meals outside that more special. We love days at Lake St. Ferriol were we have all learnt to paddle board.There are cooler bags, umbrella's and rugs so giving you the option of taking a picnic which is our first choice with the kids. Carcassonne castle is always a must as its so magical and not forgetting the Revel farmers market, so good. We highly recommend a holiday in one of Will and Karen's gites. Thank you both again.

Summary: Hello! It was our second time in Montoussel. It.s a lovely place with a lovely family! Hopkins gite has all the details that make your holidays incredible: quietness, nice green and yellow views, peace swimming pool, barbecue, nice surroundings ( especialy st ferreol lac) ,... The House is very clean and has everything you can need. And Will and his wife are lovely and solve anything you ask them. Thanks a lot for such an special place! More even if you go with children!

Summary: Will and Karen were the perfect hosts, so welcoming and useful local knowledge. The gîte was perfect for our group, with everything you need, and the pool was a great bonus! The views were amazing and there are plenty of beautiful nearby towns to visit.

Summary: My teenage children and I had a wonderful stay. The Gites are really well appointed, very clean and comfortable, designed with a lot of style and thought. We immediately felt welcomed by Will and Karen who made sure we had everything we needed and were very helpful in making recommendations for local activities, restaurants etc. My children loved all the watersports available at a local lake and also a trip to the town of Carcassonne. We also enjoyed unwinding by the pool. I can high recommend a visit
