Summary: This beautiful setting was the perfect location for our family Thanksgiving this year. The fall colours were fantastic! This gorgeous cottage exceeded our expectations on every level. The beds are so comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and the ambiance is just perfect. The cottage is located on a very scenic, yet private part of the lake which adds to the overall enjoyment and relaxation. Penny and Matt are great hosts. They made sure we were comfortable and were available whenever we had a question. This is somewhere we would love to come back to and would recommend for anyone who wants a great waterfront getaway with all the comforts of home. Lots of privacy and space for a big family. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!

Summary: The property is stunning, with multiple bedrooms and an open concept that allow for managing a large group. We had 14 with us aged 17-50 and had plenty of space for privacy, meals, and socializing in the TV area, side kitchen sitting area, and games area. The dock and firepit areas were used daily, boasting beautiful Muskoka blue waters with good depth right off the dock to jump in and swim to the floating trampoline. I cannot say enough about the hospitality of the owners; they were gracious, informative, and helpful. We will be going back!!

Summary: We had a wonderful time there this June. the house is well suited for large groups and has tons of seating inside and out. There is a lovely campfire area and a large dock you can jump/swim off of. The water is quite deep and not weedy. the hosts very lovely and very helpful/easy to contact. We would definitely recommend the cottage to anybody considering it!

Summary: Our family spent a week up at Healey Lake and had a wonderful time. Penny and Matt were nothing but helpful and gracious hosts from start to finish. Travelling with three children under 5 can be a challenge, especially in a new environment, but they loved everything from the ‘kids bunk bed room’ to the trampoline in the lake. The lake was quiet and warm and the bugs were not too bad considering the heavily wooded area surrounding the cottage. There was one rainy day, so we went for lunch in Port Carling which is about a 40 minute drive. Mid- week when we needed to replenish our groceries we drove to the Food Land in MacTeir (20 min drive) and they had a fairly good selection of items to choose from. All and all a beautiful fully equip cottage-a great place to relax and spend some quality family time. Thank you!!

Summary: We recently stayed for a week at this gorgeous property. We were three generations having a family week together. We had a fabulous time because of all the amenities and space that the cottage afforded us. The cottage is stunning, with a fully equipped kitchen, 4 spacious bedrooms, and so much space that we could all spread out. The dock is huge, with 8 Muskoka chairs, so everyone was accommodated, and the lake warm and inviting. There was a water trampoline that was an absolute hit with everyone, but the children especially loved it. Many hours were spent playing there. The two man kayak was wonderful to explore the lake. There is also a super fire pit, where we congregated every evening for s’mores, and stories. The wood ignited almost instantly. That was so nice. Penny & Matt were very accommodating and helpful through the whole process. Definitely a six thumbs up!

Summary: I recently spent a week at Matt and Penny’s cottage at Healey Lake and the consensus opinion was 12 thumbs up and six big, if exhausted, grins. Every cottage is unique and has its own merits, but, as I reflect on our time there, what stuck out most to me was the authentic and genuine kindness, helpfulness, courtesy and consideration offered by Matt and Penny. They make a concerted effort to ensure you get the most out of your time there. By no means intrusive, they make it clear that they’re always available when needed – and to me, that matters. Two notable items to be aware of. First, if constant internet access is necessary, as it is for some, be prepared to use your own cellular connectivity. The cottage does have internet, but its sporadic, and the provided connectivity is metered. Not an unreasonable safeguard given the recent explosion in data usage. Second, provision wisely, as Parry Sound is 90 minutes roundtrip. There are a couple of marinas nearby that have some basic items, including liquor, but little more. Pictures really don’t do this cottage justice, and when you step inside the great room for the first time and look around, you begin to appreciate the effort that went into building it, finishing it, and furnishing it. A well thought out blend of rustic and modern design concepts that really define its character. Matt has some great stories about the build and I encourage anyone interested, as I was, to ask him about it. The living room is expansive and open, centered around the fireplace, but there’s also a breakfast/work nook adjacent to the kitchen which is great for quieter endeavors. The dock is well made, has plenty of seating, and a breathtaking view. A provided 2 person kayak served as our primary mode of transportation for fishing and general exploration efforts, but the show stealer – according to my 5 year old nephew – was the epic water trampoline just to the right of the dock. If you think its just for kids, think again. As for fishing, you wont be disappointed. From the dock, I pulled in plenty of small and large mouth bass and about a dozen walleye. From the kayak things get more interesting. I landed a few sub-trophy walleye jigging in and around the many coves and landed a beautiful pike trolling with a spinnerbait & chaser. There’s so much more to write, but I’m out of characters, so I’ll close by simply thanking Penny and Matt for opening their cottage to us, and being generous and gracious hosts. Cheers.

Summary: We had the time of our life with our three children at this wonderful house at the lake. It really is a paradise and we are so grateful that we were aloud to share it. Everyone of us loved it the moment we arrived. The house is gorgeously set at the lake, very peaceful and everywhere you can feel that it was built by heart. Penny and Matt gave us the feeling that we were very welcome and everything was totally uncomplicated, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you so much!

Summary: This lakehouse on Healey Lake is private and just beautiful. It's perfect for large families with lots of beds and a large open kitchen/Muskoka room. It has everything you'll need for a perfect family vacation. The fire pit was awesome at night and there's lots of wood to burn! The lake itself is very quiet and perfect for kids to swim and fish. We caught over 30 fish during our stay which made our boys happy! We enjoyed the kayak and the water trampoline was a total hit! I will say you should come prepared because it is a bit of a drive to get to the grocery store but hey- you're in Muskoka :) Bring your own towels, detergent, shampoo etc so you don't have to run out except maybe to the LCBO which isn't too far :) The owners Penny and Matt are lovely and very responsive. Cheers!

Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise with our two families.
