Positive: The property is extremely well set up and in a lovely location. Communication regarding check in went smoothly.

Negative: Creaky floor boards in the upstairs bedroom are disruptive for the people in the bedroom below

Positive: Beautiful modern spacious 4 bed house with stunning view of the ocean. They have 2 large bedrooms with ensuites plus another shared bathroom and laundry downstairs. The master bedroom with ensuite is upstairs and the other bedroom with ensuite downstairs together with a smaller double room and room with bunk beds downstairs. The kitchen was great with everything you could possible need. They had a drawer full of condiments, spices, cereals, coffee, tea which we appreciated. We enjoyed cooking in the lovely kitchen and also cooked on the bbq outside. They have a lovely big garden. The air con unit upstairs came in handy, as did the bedroom fans. The house is close to Kingscote which has a pub and a supermarket plus chemist etc. The location is very good base for getting around the island.

Positive: The space and the view were lovely. Location was convenient. We enjoyed the leisurely walk into town a couple of times. I appreciated the well equipped kitchen and the quality of the soft furnishings. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Negative: Not much really. A soap dispenser would be good in the shower. Other than that the items I couldn’t find were glad wrap and beer glasses. Minor points but we would have used them if they were there.

Summary: A very enjoyable, comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Positive: The house was immaculately clean, spacious and comfortable. The view was lovely and Kingscote town was close by.

Negative: My only suggestions would be that the host could be more responsive to messages. One of the beds we requested was not made up. Maybe some shampoo and face cloths would also be nice, but these things were minor and I would not hesitate to recommend Fairy Wren and I would certainly stay again.

Positive: Location was good, being reasonably central to the island’s sites and close to shops and fuel outlet. The house seemed to be well insulated and the heating wasn’t needed on the mild weather days and easily warmed the house up on the colder nights. There were multiple sitting areas.

Negative: My wife found the mattress a bit too firm, and that affected her sleep quality. I found the mattress firm on the fist night but it didn’t bother me to the same extent.

Summary: Modern, clean, comfortable and convenient. We very much enjoyed our six night stay.
