Summary: Room wasn’t ready, reception offered a credit for a drink / bite, forgot to apply the credit until I called later, electric car was not charged despite being clear about needing it and verifying it was an option. Car valet kept making excuses but wouldn’t apologize

Summary: We always stay at the Royal York when in Toronto. The rooms and staff are always perfect and in the winter we always have great options for room service dining....although we did miss seeing the fish and chips on the menu this past visit. A stopover at the York is always a great finishing touch to our travels. Next visit will be this April for a game at Scotiabank Arena, can't wait!

Summary: The staff was great, hotel was lovely, would recommend going to the lobby bar or the Library as it is so lovely. There was a dog in the room beside us barking which was less than ideal. Overall, would recommend and come back to.

Summary: The first room we were put in smelled like a public washroom. We thought we could tough it out, but after less than ten minutes it seemed silly to stay in that room with the price we were paying. The smell was horrendous. The staff were wonderful about changing our room, and we got one with a view of the CN Tower but then at 3 am that night the clock alarm went off in the adjoining room to ours. It became clear after a while that no one was in that room so we had to call down to the front desk to get someone to come in and turn the alarm off. The next night, that same room was occupied by three very loud people. Because the rooms were adjoining, they might as well have been right in our room because there was no sound proofing at all. By 2 am the kids and I were exhausted and I was compelled to knock on the door and ask that they please talk quieter. Credit to them, they immediately quieted. Otherwise, there was an empty liquor bottle behind the dresser, and the motion activated closet light went on and off consistently through the night though the door was shut and no one was moving. It did not help with trying to sleep. All in all, not a great stay. We go to Toronto often but I'll be choosing a different hotel next time. It was our first time back here since the pandemic and unfortunately, it wasn't the stay we had hoped for.
