Positive: The staff was very friendly. The hotel was clean. Complimentary breakfast is always a bonus.

Negative: Very disappointed in the airport shuttle service. Every 30 minutes might be fine, but I was staying at the hotel to compete in the Chicago Marathon, of which I paid significantly for. The morning of the race, myself and two other runners were kicked off the shuttle to leave space for travelers. The shuttle fits 14 and only 11 were on the shuttle. The driver had one more stop to make, which I guess was to pick up more than 3 passengers. There is no excuse for this. The hotel knows the marathon is happening, because the rates are inflated for travelers during the rate weekend and deflated otherwise. Because Fairfield knows about the race, they know runners will be using the CTA blue line to get to downtown to race. So it seems prudent to provide an additional shuttle on race day in the morning. If you don't want to provide additional staffing for shuttle drivers, the shuttle seating should be first-come, first-served. Travelers don't have any higher priority getting to the airport than runners do getting to their race. A missed flight can be rescheduled. A missed race cannot. We won't be staying here next year when I run the Chicago Marathon again.

Positive: Pretty much everything. Quietness, location, how clean it was, staff was nice. It was probably one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
