Summary: Very clean room and great design. Very new building. There’s a cosy seating space downstairs with communal amenities. Near to the main station and main road.

Summary: Everything meets expectations. I suggest to request a room facing the train track. We manage to spot AsoBOY! and the luxury Seven Stars. No restaurant onsite but we grab dinner from the nearby roadside market.

Summary: Literally opposite Aso train station if arriving by train. Has plenty of parking and less than thirty minutes drive to the volcano visitors center. Feels brand new in 2025. Realistically you are going to need a car to have options for dinner etc.

Summary: Hotel was lovely. Room very large, definitely a Western feel but with some Japanese features (eg sliding doors separating living compartments). As with most Japanese hotels it has no cupboards! Large lounge for heating/eating food which was great and cheap washing facilities too. Location excellent, good base for visiting the area, although a car is an essential.

Summary: Larger spaces for rooms. Matress very comfortable. Pillows however were large and full of volume, but it flattens after putting your head on it and stays squashed and hard. - could be pillow preference. Location is right next to a train station. Lawson walking distance
