Summary: Stayed for 2 nights for the Great North Run. We have used this property for many years for the same event. Arrived for check-in to a very busy hotel, a wedding reception was in full swing. Met by a not very friendly man on reception who informed us about the wedding and that the restaurant and bar were not available for us that evening. We checked breakfast would be from 7 am as in previous years and in fact we had confirmed with Greta on the previous Wednesday. He was quite firm that breakfast wouldn't be available until 7:30 ish standard Sunday times and we are very busy. Later we met with other fellow runners in the hotel lobby who were also concerned about the lack of food that evening and breakfast time. By chance a very helpful reception lady (assisting with photo booth man) overheard our conversation and assured used Breakfast would be from 7 am as usual and the staff involved had been informed, Due to the hotel being busy we and 2 others had to wait nearly half hour for the photo booth man to move his van so we could go out for food etc. We were told by staff that THINGS HAD CHANGED with the new owners. Don't think we will be there next year. The premises is looking very tiered in places and felt the staff are just doing a gob but not looking very happy doing it! It's a shame the hotel didn't inform us of the LACK OF FACILITIES for the Saturday night, if we had known we would have gone elsewhere.

Summary: Looks very grand on arrival, good amount of parking. Rooms quite dated, cup stains on bedside cabinets. Shower pretty decent. Would i stay again? Yes.

Summary: Room was clean, couple of downlights in the bathroom not working, noise from the toilet flush was annoying. Cooked Breakfast was good.

Summary: Great room. We stayed at the apartment on Easter Sunday and Monday. Delicious breakfast although there was some miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel management which meant they couldn’t see our breakfast reservation. Nonetheless it was resolved asap. Plenty of parking space available and located nearby to local shops
