Positive: Amazing stay. Would have stayed more nights if we could. The hosts were super accommodating and friendly, food was delicious and the lodge is stunning. We took out a paddle out on the canoe when we got there and there were some incredible views, we even got to see White faced monkeys!

Negative: Only had one night there.

Positive: I really loved my stay here. The hosts are incredibly sweet and helpful, and they genuinely make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. All the breakfasts and dinners were really, really good. I would absolutely recommend future guests to have dinner at the hotel — and if you have time, lunch as well, because that’s also excellent. Having dinner while watching the sunset is something special: it’s such a cute, peaceful setting. The property itself is huge and beautiful. You have access to kayaking, and during your stay you can see monkeys of different kinds, crocodiles, caimans, and so many birds. It truly feels like you have a little piece of the world all to yourself when you’re here. And as a bonus, there’s always a hike just around the corner — literally. A perfect place if you love nature, good food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere

Positive: The location is incredibly beautiful and full of nature. We stayed in the Tapir Cabina, which was extremely private and quiet, with a really nice patio and useful outdoor kitchen. The proprietors are extremely helpful, friendly, professional, creating a wonderful environment. Taking the rowboat through the lagoon to the beautiful quiet beach was a real highlight, along with very pleasant ocean swimming. Highly recommended!

Negative: The showers are a bit low pressure but warm; however it's not too big of a deal since it's hot there:)

Summary: Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer!

Negative: We ha spent the night before in Coronado Park and were hoping for air-conditioning. There was a fan, not zircon.

Positive: I loved Encanto lodge! The hosts Edu and Sabrina are amazing and go out of their way to make your stay special - we felt more like family visiting than paying tourists! Food was home-cooked, delicious and fresh! The location is incredible - you're in the jungle and can take a row boat right from the property to go wildlife spotting on the estuary. Edu and Sabrina can also help with all the arrangements to visit Cano Island and Corcovado which made the whole stay so smooth and stress-free. I loved how remote the lodge is and that it only has a few cabins, making it also very private. Wondrous experience!

Negative: Would be nice for the shower to have a "shower head" as its just a pipe with large stream. It was a little difficult to adapt to not having A/C - but honestly this was part of the immersive experience!

Negative: Its remote. Great for a one or two day stay.

Summary: Fabulous experience. Guests can use a canoe to cross the lagoon or venture into the creeks.

Positive: The breakfasts we had were delicious. One morning we had to leave early to meet our tour and Edu graciously rose early to fix us breakfast- totally unexpected!

Negative: I don't have anything to say that wasn't positive. We had a lovely stay and would return if we traveled to Drake again.

Positive: If you want a peaceful haven with the opportunity to see wildlife without the crowds, stay at Encanto Lodge. We received such a warm welcome from Edu and Sabina. They are excellent hosts and cooks, using ingredients from their farm. We enjoyed paddling in their boat along the estuary to the beach and in the mangroves, viewing capuchin monkeys, parrots, macaws and other wildlife. They also arranged for us to visit Corcovado NP, which was a holiday highlight, plus a dolphin and whale watching tour. Top tip....read the advice on their website where they tell you what to bring for the excursions. You will need a 4wd car to get to the property.
