Negative: The lights from the rental properties up the road with the hot tub on all night.

Positive: Extremely well converted. Very helpful owner. We really appreciated the new woodburner.

Negative: A bit cold and draughty when it's very windy but the woodburner and air source heater were very good at helping with that.

Positive: We booked to stay on Elsie for New Years Eve as a family of 6 and for my husbands birthday. We loved the uniqueness and quirkiness of Elsie. Our children were so excited to sleep on a train and loved waving at the Steam Engines as they passed. The property was clean and well equipped. The bedrooms were super cosy and all the little touches and old GWR items made it such a delight to stay. The old lamps and photos around the property made it feel so special. Our children LOVED the bedrooms with the Harry Potter bunting and fairylights and said the beds were so cosy. We received the nicest welcome basket and a few food items to keep us going - which was a really nice and an unexpected touch. We enjoyed staying up late and playing games whilst eating some wonderful food and a memorable trip to Minehead for a swim in the sea on New Years Day, and a family walk around Minehead visiting the arcades and beach front pub for lunch. Minehead is only a 10 minute drive from Elsie. We had great communication from Emma who popped the heating on for us before we arrived and was flexible with checkout with us having such a young family and 4 kids to get out the door.

Negative: Our only criticism is the open under carriage and access to the working railway on the other side. We had to be mindful with our young kids but fortunately due to weather we didn't spend anytime outside.

Summary: Amazing, quirky and a trip to remember.

Positive: It's location next to the sea and railway line was brilliant and close to interesting places to visit.

Negative: Railway not running earlier enough as Minehead station closed currently until December.
