Positive: The location was amazing. Exactly the peace we needed. The cottage was like home with lots of extras, so thoughtful. Communication from the host was welcoming and appreciated. We can't rate this stay high enough.

Positive: Excellent communication with Jane before, during and after our stay. Jane left a superb welcome basket in the cosy cottage, which was very well equipped and warm.

Negative: The only downside is the bathroom is off one of the bedrooms.

Summary: A cosy cottage in a picturesque location, which is perfect for exploring Shropshire.

Positive: This was a beautiful cottage, clean and comfortable. Every little thing you needed was included, from the most amazing welcome pack (6 eggs, loaf of fresh white bread, coffee, bottle of white wine, a Victoria sandwich cake, and chocolate biscuits). Also available were a selection of condiments, coffee, tea and hot chocolate (with mini marshmallows), milk (semi skimmed and oat), shower gel, toilet rolls etc. Literally everything you need apart from meals! Jane, the host of the cottage, updated us with instructions to check in and the list of things included before we left so we could remove unnecessary items such as towels from our packing. She also texted me to make sure I didn't miss the Northern Lights!!! We were able to text or phone if we needed anything (we only needed to check about which bins we used, but it was good to have the option to do so). The cottage was warm, beds comfortable, cushions for outside chairs provided (only managed one evening outside owing to weather but would be great on warmer days) and throws (not needed). There was free WiFi, board and card games, FreeVe TV (including BBC iPlayer, etc) for nights in and good pubs and shops nearby. There is a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and coffee machine, as well as toaster, kettle, lots of crockery and cutlery, and cooking utensils too. The chairs for the dining table are mainly underneath it, to save space, but are comfortable. It was a quiet location, down a country location, with stunning views.

Negative: Although I would happily stay here again, I need to mention the narrow lane that leads to the cottage. This may not suit some drivers. Also, to get to the upstairs beds and wardrobe, you have to use a windy staircase behind a door, which may be an issue for someone with mobility issues. However, a spacious double bedroom with bathroom is downstairs, so this is only an issue if you have a larger group, as there is space to store folded clothes downstairs in the bedroom.

Positive: At Elsie's cottage Jane our host left us a beautiful welcome hamper, gorgeous fresh eggs, bread & butters, sponge cake, wine, fresh coffee & milk. Jane kept in touch checking everything was OK or if we needed anything telling us not to hesitate to contact her if needed. The bed linen & towels beautiful quality, very pretty immaculate cottage, outstanding views & all areas in close driving distance. Lovely welcoming pub down the lane, Nags Head serving lovely food. Jane is an amazing host so don't hesitate to book if you're thinking about it, we definitely will if we choose to stay in the area again. Thank you Jane.

Positive: Our host Jane could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Flowers and breakfast provisions, recommendations for a pub supper and afternoon tea were special touches that made our stay extra nice. The cottage is very snug and located near to lots of nice walks in the surrounding countryside.

Positive: You can see how quaint the cottage is and how wonderful the view is from the pictures. However the thing that sets it apart, make it feel like home immediately and make the holiday easier are the little touches like the flowers, the wonderful welcome basket and all the odds and ends you need around the house like sandwich bags, condiments, toiletries etc. The local area is also fantastic for quiet walks and fantastic pubs within walking distance like the Mytton at Habberley. The Nags Head in the village also does great food and drinks.

Negative: Nothing. We will be back.
