Positive: Cottage itself is faultless. There is plenty of room and very clean. The WiFi is great despite the reviews online saying that it was poor. We found it extremely good. The hot tub was fantastic, and the sauna was a nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of both.

Negative: Outside light for the hot tub was not working. When opening the velux windows, there we loads of flies that fell into the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. (Live flies so potential nests). It's not a huge concern. I just wanted to highlight this for you. The oven display knob is worn off, so not sure what setting does what. Again these are small concerns but nothing that we are complaining about we just wanted to highlight them for you for future stays. Ultimately our stay was fantastic.

Positive: Views and lodge set up was great Amazing location and great for peaceful getaway

Negative: Tv didn’t work in bedroom and contacted the property owner twice to help fix and had no response or help fix the issue so reluctant to ask about other issues given lack of response. Bed mattress was quite thin and not comfortable but that may be our personal preference. There is a kitchen, but the non stick pans are so degraded and delaminated i didnt want to use them so i would get microwave meals if i went again. There was also a lot of flys in the property and needed to get fly spray.

Summary: Great property and views but not great support

Positive: Property was in a lovely quiet spot,lots of space for a family and dog to run around.would be a fantastic place if you wanted to go with other families having 3 houses in the same place

Negative: Hot tubs could do with updating looked a bit shabby, simple utensils like scissors and a spatula would be useful also the house sleeps 6 and we only had 3 mugs.

Summary: With a few upgrades and a bit of TLC this place could offer so much more

Positive: The atmosphere is peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The interior is spacious and well-designed, with plenty of room to move around without feeling crowded. Great place to escape the noise and just enjoy a calm environment. The host was helpful with providing assistance with WiFi issues.

Negative: We stayed for four nights. On the first day, we noticed a few large flies inside, not ideal, but understandable given the countryside location. We kept the windows closed throughout our stay to avoid worsening the issue. Unfortunately, the problem escalated significantly over the next few days with between 15-20 flies in the kitchen alone. I emailed the host but received no response. We ended up purchasing fly traps to help manage the situation, but it was still quite bad. We couldn’t prepare food in the kitchen or leave drinks unattended, which was really frustrating. We were only provided one towel each for showering and none specifically for the hot tub, which was a bit inconvenient. However, John was helpful and responsive once we contacted him about it. Additionally, we noticed a few stains on the bedding when we arrived (possibly ink) which was off-putting.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay and made the most of it as best we could, but the place has so much more potential.

Positive: Fantastic, peaceful location. Plenty of attractions to visit, although most need to travel to.

Negative: Nearest town wasn't great. Store was good, but we found cafés and alot of other shops closed.

Could not use the hot tub as there was a large hole in the side of it which contained a wasps nest, contacted elm escapes and was told we could use the hot tub in another lodge that was two doors away, this was very disappointing as we paid for the convenience of having one at our lodge

Summary: Very rural location, beautiful setting but let down by the facilities
