Positive: Awesome location. The couple that run it are very nice and accommodating. Most importantly the shower and air conditioner are excellent. Great value for money.

Negative: A little cramped but tbh that was to be expected for the price

Positive: A little gem - such a lovely family to share their home with us. The room was compact but comfortable and cool. The back of the house is directly on the seafront, and there are beach resorts and restaurants within 1-2 minutes walk. Ellen and her husband were so helpful and chatty, even driving us to see sites of interest and to and from the ferry port. We’d definitely come again.

Positive: Cute dogs, good moped. Comfy bed. The room was clean on arrival. Provide nice towels. Good aircon and wifi.

Negative: Room is very small, it was just big enough for 2 of us with 2 big backpacks. A thing to note is the windows don’t look out to anywhere but the main communal space where you’re meant to take your shoes off but it was dirty on the floor. We were mostly there alone, hosts were hard to find at times and one time we got locked out due to the door to the entrance being very stiff. The hosts very nice people, but didn’t give much guidance on what to do. We were confused by the other reviews which said they spent a lot of time with them. We didn’t feel very welcomed. The washing was also a-bit disappointing as the stains were still in our clothes as it was just on a quick cold wash. That being said, if you don’t want to be bothered it’s the place for you.

Summary: Its ok, wouldn’t stay again.

Positive: ellen’s homestay is the best place we have stayed in all of the countries we have visited. ellen’s family is so beautiful, loving and welcoming. the room was perfect - spotlessly clean, brilliant aircon - no bugs in the room too. amazing location facing the sea. siquijor felt like home to us - but what made us feel at home was ellen’s family. they gave us the Philippine experience - trying balut! we will be back in the future. we will miss you 💗💗

Positive: Ellen's family are very welcoming, the ocean view from our room was beautiful and it was very well located. We even sang some karaoke with Ellen and other guests on one night. Was easily our favourite stay (of 3) on Siquijor.
