Positive: The property was beautiful. Everything you needed for a week away. The staff were so polite and welcoming. The pool was excellent, and the family of cats on site kept us very entertained. Breakfast was always wonderful and fresh and started us off for a great day exploring the wonderful island.
Negative: Not really a dislike, but aware local transport is virtually non-existent and the property is located at the top of a long road.

Positive: Eliathos Hillside Retreat was a wonderful place to stay. We had a good mixture of relaxing and taking in some culture and history of Archanes and Heraklion. Archanes was a 15 minute walk, Heraklion was a half hour drive, or slightly longer bus ride. Audrey our host looked after us so well. She helped us with recommendations of where to eat, catch a bus and anything else we wanted to know. I would recommend this place to anyone, it was a really lovely holiday.

Positive: So, we didn't actually get to stay here as the apartment we rented had an electrical problem. We had rented a 3 bedroom apartment, and were offered 2 apartments (1 bedroom apartment & 2 bedroom apartment). As were were traveling with children (12 & under) this arrangement didn't work for us. We could have taken the 2 bedroom but had paid for a 3 bedroom & there was no reduction in price. The second option was to stay at a sister property (Manili Villa & Suites in town) that had 4 bedrooms, so we chose this option. The apartment was fine (it even had a private hot tub & private pool) but it lacked 2 key elements that the original apartment had: laundry facilities & a functional kitchen (tiny kitchen area, not well eqipped, no space for pantry). The staff were very appologetic, and were helpful & made sure our stay was pleasant. The buffet breakfast was amazing!
Negative: We would have loved to stay at the Hillside Retreat. The views were gorgeous.

Positive: Tranquillity….friendly / helpful staff……clean……breakfast
Negative: Booked knowing room had loft bedroom layout….going up and down loft steps was not comfortable…..signage providing directions should be communicated with confirmation.

Positive: The house we got was beautiful and comfortable, very quiet and it had all the things we needed for our stay.
Negative: There was no hot water in the first day, it was very inconvenient, but it was fixed on the day after and it was ok for the rest of our stay.
