Positive: We checked in late as at festival and they rang to confirm and left the key out for us with a welcoming note at the desk

Negative: Lack of parking as I have a blue badge but couldn’t park in the bay as would have blocked the entrance but can park in carpark next door for a small fee :)

Positive: The room was big and had nice toiletries. The bedding was fresh and clean.

Negative: It was very dark in the room, even with the lights on, and in the hallways. The hotel smelt a little stale and was quite tired, as an example the door to the bathroom was difficult to shut and was all scuffed on the bottom.

Positive: We stayed here as an affordable option for the Reading Festival - Pangbourne train station a 5 minute walk and 2 stops from Reading. Hotel was great - our twin room opened onto a Church green which was super peaceful, church bells aside. Staff were lovely, great food in the bar on our first night, very comfortable beds and well equipped. Only bugbear was the children playing football on the green on the Saturday morning at 7am - there was a wedding party taking over the place when we checked out and it looked like a lovely place for a wedding booking! I would stay again and explore the area, lovely town with lots to offer in its own right.

Negative: Nothing at all to complain about - except for the noise early Saturday morning, but that was due to the wedding guests arriving and small children playing outside our room.

Summary: Fantastic place and excellent value for money - we would stay again, lovely reception staff and very accommodating.

Positive: A great hotel, in a lovely location. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We dined in the Herd restaurant, and the food was amazing. Once again, the staff were great. Would recommend.
