Beautiful oasis in the historical center of Oaxaca.
Enjoy all that Oaxaca has to offer within walking distance of this lovely spacious Colonial home located in Centro historico Oaxaca ( A UNESCO Historical City) - Just 3 blocks west of the Santo Domingo Church and the tourist corridor - Macedonia. Alcala and 7 blocks to the Cathedral & Zocolo, the city's center. Explore the markets, museums, galleries, language schools and fine restaurants - all within walking distance. Return home each day to relax in the 5000 square foot home with 4 Bedrooms: 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor - 3 (three) with spiral stairs ( please see pictures) and a salon below. The rear King bedroom is on the 1st floor next to the master bathroom.
There are 3 full bathrooms, a generous kitchen with modern appliances, dining area for 8 - inside or outside on the rear patio , and a terrace overlooking the city.
The back patio stairs leads to the 2nd floor community room.

Summary: We loved everything about this property… great location to walk to bakery, markets, galleries, etc. We had a car and had no trouble parking on the side streets. The design of the house is challenging if you have disability, but otherwise it is the perfect set up. We cooked one meal each day and had everything we needed.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay very much. The location is very convenient and the house us very well appointed. Communication with tje property iwner and manager was excellent!My only criticism is that the write up should warn that people with mobility issues might find is challenging; also that it is a noisy neighborhood.

Summary: It's close walking distance to many tourist attractions and there is a lovely brewpub across the street. The house is beautiful but one should be aware of its quirks. The main bedroom on the first floor has its own bathroom but other bedrooms upstairs do not. You have to walk across the courtyard to get to the bathrooms. Did not bother me but could be a challenge for some. There is a nightclub on the block that I could hear one but did not bother me. I did not need to use earplugs.

Summary: This property was in a prime location - within walking distance to everything that we wanted to see in Oaxaca, so was super convenient. Cinthia and Arturo were very responsive, and the property was spacious for the 5 of us in our family. Great food options and sightseeing were within minutes of walking.However, the property is adjacent to a new club, sharing a wall with it, so that Friday and Saturday nights we could hear music until all hours of the morning, impairing our sleep.

Summary: We loved our stay here - great location, and comfortable home! There are three bedrooms upstairs, all connected and each has its own spiral staircase to downstairs - not a problem if your group is not too noisy. The downstairs bedroom has its own bathroom - for the others they need to trek down the steps to the two bathrooms that are in a separate structure. We were greeted by the caretaker, and he helped us with various tips and advice. We were there around Christmas time, so it was chilly but there were extra blankets. The only thing was missed was the ability to do laundry and some ironing (you know, for the fancy Christmas dinner). But for most guests, I assume those are not a problem at all :)

Summary: Large Mexican traditionnal proprety very well located in the hearth of Oaxaca. There is a lot of outdoor space, nice garden and large rooms and kitchen. The communications with the owner and the caretaker were easy and helpful (via emai and What's App) and responses were fast and helpful when needed) expect for a confusion at the end of our stay. On the negative side: 2 of the 3 bathrooms are located away from the main residential block (acces a little more complicated when you need to use the facilities at nigth time. Access could be more difficult for ederly people. Some rooms are accessible with a narrow spiral staircase (most of the rooms are on the second level) and there are many different levels in the garden. The rooms are clean but there could have been some imporvement in the common areas. Also there is a smell of humidity in some areas of the house Overall, we had a very nice week in Oaxaca in this nice home.

Summary: We are five 70 year olds getting together after many years. We loved hanging out in the kitchen and coming "home" to this house after a day of excursions. We didn’t feel comfortable going down the spiral stairs at night, so we left the doors between the upstairs bedrooms open so people could pass through on their way to the bathrooms down the regular stairs. We got used to it, but we are very comfortable with each other. It was quiet enough to sleep, except on Friday and Saturday nights there was music that went to past midnight. We survived! The location is great for accessing restaurants and action on Garcia Vigil, Alcala and the zocalo. There were plenty of indoor/outdoor group spaces that we could gather in, or separate as needed. In all, we were pleased with this house and felt we got a great taste of the city and all its charms. P.S. The Casa del Sotano (1/2 block away) has a nice breakfast starting at 7:30. t cook much, but we could have as the kitchen is well stocked with dishes. The odd layouts

Summary: We really enjoyed staying at Casa Blanca. It was within walking distance of so many places. We enjoyed coffee on the patio in the morning, and also relaxing after a day of touring. I would stay here again.

Summary: Perfect place to stay for a trip to Oaxaca - lots of charm and walkable to everything in the city center. The main road can be busy but once you’re inside it is an oasis.
