A beautifully presented croft style house with large private garden in the heart of Achiltibuie.
Looking across to the Summer Isles, this very well equipped cottage offers delightful accommodation in a stunning and romantic holiday location. The cottage has full central heating, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sitting room with open fire place, dining room and kitchen and a large, private garden with ample parking. Freeview TV, DVD, iPod dock and WiFi. Surrounded by hills, lochs, islands and beaches, Achiltibuie is a popular holiday destination and a perfect base from which to explore the North West Highlands. Hill walking, kayaking, birdwatching, mountain biking, sailing, fishing or taking the local cruise boat around the islands are just some of the activities to enjoy in the area. Alternatively, just come to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of this extraordinary part of the highlands. Local restaurants include the nearby, award winning, Summer Isles Hotel, and two pubs serving excellent seafood
Welcome Pack: For your arrival we supply the following: milk, tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, salt, pepper, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper, soap, logs for the fire and fire-lighters. Should you wish to pre-order supplies from the local stores, please get in touch and we can arrange this for you. It is worth noting that local shops are closed on Sundays. There is a huge Tesco in Inverness and a smaller one in Ullapool (25 miles) open 7 days a week. You may order newspapers to be collected at the local stores. You will receive a full information pack of all suppliers, activities, etc. on booking.
Dogs: We welcome dogs by arrangement. The village is a crofting community with many sheep roaming free. The garden is well fenced with a cattle grid at the entrance. There are many walks where dogs can run free, but through the village it is important to keep dogs on leads.
We are sure your dogs don't sit on the sofas or beds but if you think they might do so please bring your own dog blankets to cover our furniture.
Activities: Many visitors come to walk in the area. We supply a list of 25 tried and tested walks of different lengths along with maps. It is a great area for kayaking. If you do not have your own kayaks it is possible to go out with a local guide. Sailing and windsurfing are both available on Tanera, the largest of the Summer Isles. Day cruises around the Summer Isles are available from Achiltibuie and Ullapool. Achiltibuie Traditional Music School offers piping lessons amongst other instruments. The village hall has a wonderful sports hall for badminton, indoor football, table tennis for wet days and also hosts many ceilidh and other musical events throughout the summer. Ullapool has a great leisure centre including an excellent swimming pool. Golf is available at Ullapool's challenging 9 hole golf course.

Summary: A beautiful place to stay even during a storm. The bus driver recommended walks, took us to the start and picked us up. The shop had everything we needed and we were even given a lift back to Ullapool as there are no buses on Saturday.

Summary: First of all you have to appreciate the outstanding beauty of the West Coast of Scotland. After a 17 year break in the USA - we returned to one of the many beautiful areas of Scotland. The Summer Isles remain magnificent. As we journeyed to our rental - we saw peregrine, buzzard, Great Skuas and a pod of 30+ dolphins! We were very fortunate to stay in the Summer Isles Hotel when Mark and Gerry hosted an eclectic group of guests for dinner - including us! What wonderful memories - not forgetting Bob from NZ. You had to be there for the dessert and cheese trolleys! It was no surprise to us that the cottage was first class - very comfortable and wanting for nothing. A real gem. Definitely a keeper for a return visit. We were looking for a respite after our daughter had been unwell and we found peace, tranquility to refresh our bodies and souls. A beautiful place and a wonderful rental. Thanks! Paul

Summary: We have stayed at Williams Cottage many times and alway find the cottage is just perfect. Clean, cosy and ideally located for hill walking and exploring the area from Ullapool in the south and Lochinver and beyond in the north. We will no doubt return time and time again!

Summary: We all loved the house and garden. It is wonderfully situated. We agreed that whatever we looked for in the kitchen to cook nice meals was there, one of the only places to be so well equipped and organised and clean. This enabled us all to relax and really enjoy our holiday. Great to be surrounded by beautiful artworks as well.
