We invite you to the historic & modest Happy Valley Lodge to experience a rustic/luxury stay in our newly renovated 100 yr old log cabin. We are located in the quaint, historic mining community of Eldora, which sits a few miles below the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains. The cabin is nestled in the trees on a private, acre lot and borders Boulder Creek. We're 3 miles from the quirky town of Nederland and are only minutes from The Eldora Mountain Resort, our local ski hill.
The town of Eldora is a small, alpine community sitting at an elevation of 8,700 ft and is the southern gateway into the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. Our cabin is the perfect place to base out of for many adventures, from back country skiing, snow shoeing, hiking & camping. Down hill ski, snowboard or ski the Nordic Track at the Eldora Mountain Resort, minutes from the cabin. In other seasons fly fish in Boulder Creek, just on the edge of the property, or stroll out your door & take in our scenic neighborhood. The popular Magnolia mountain bike trails are only a few miles from the cabin & the top of Boulder Canyon is a 10-15 minute drive and host to an extensive array of rock climbs and more fishing if desired.
The Happy Valley Lodge is also a great place to just relax, escape the summer heat and take in the beauty & wildness of your surroundings. National Forest surrounds Eldora's small community on all sides & it's not unusual to have moose, deer & foxes walking through the yard.
Explore the small, earthy town of Nederland and it's unique shops & eateries a few miles away. Boulder is an intersting 35 minute drive down scenic, Boulder Canyon with its towering rock walls. Rocky Mountain National Park is about an hour drive and the historic mining towns of Blackhawk & Central City are about 30 minutes away if you want to try your luck at gambling.

Summary: Our family of 4 truly enjoyed our time in Eldora. We especially liked cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, spending time together by the fire, playing cards at the table, and the drive to the ski hill was nice and short. We found the cabin to be very cozy and charming, the beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated the heated floors in the bathrooms.We hope to return one day.

Summary: This is our second stay at this wonderful property! The leaves were putting on quite a show and we hiked to the overlook of the town and were treated to an amazing view. We love visiting this quiet piece of paradise. Highly recommend!!

Summary: This cabin has been restored and updated beautifully with very chic Western decor. My sister and I each had our own bedroom and bathroom. We used the middle room to store our suitcases and travel packs (only the master bedroom has a closet). For the most part, we ate lunches and dinners out in Nederland, but the kitchen has plenty of cookware, a dishwasher and nice refridge. Guests are expected to remove their own recyclables and organic trash. Our host, Roxanne, was very responsive via text. I'm already plotting a return trip!

Summary: A great getaway cabin up in the mountains. Short distance fromNederland town for great food and drinks. The cabin is rustic but has all of the comforts of home and is beautifully decorated. Perfect combo for a mountain home. Cozy and inviting!

Summary: This property is an absolute gem - quiet, peaceful, beautiful, clean, and well-stocked. Everything we needed and more was provided by the host. We cooked delicious meals in the well-appointed kitchen, enjoyed reading in front of the fireplace (thanks to the generous supply of firewood), slept comfortably, and flyfished in the creek behind the cabin. Nederland is a 5-minute drive away when we needed to do some shopping. The host is responsive and helpful.We will definitely return.

Summary: Second time staying at this property. Never disappoints and Roxanne is a wonderful host. The area had received a massive amount of snow (56”) just days before we arrived. Roxanne made sure access to the property wasn’t an issue and her communication, as always, was prompt and thorough. Had a great, relaxing stay. Thanks again, Roxanne….we will be back soon.

Summary: My family absolutely loved our stay here. There was so much snow, my kids and dog played for hours outside. The inside of the cabin is incredibly warm and welcoming. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals and the heated floors in the bathrooms were wonderful. Thank you so much for having us in your home, we will certainly be back!

Summary: We stayed in Roxanne's place for 10 days, visiting our CU Boulder Freshman and skiing. On the second weekend our older son joined us as well, so we were the whole family with two young adults and everyone has a great time. The cabin is super well equipped, and even had sharpen knifes! It is located in a cul de sac in the small mining town of Eldora, surrounded by woods and nature, but close to both Eldora Ski resort and Nederland - both are a lot of mountains culture fun All an all the cabin has everything you need and nothing more, keeping it both very comfortable yet maintaining that log cabin feeling.
