A 700 square foot home located in a quiet secluded neighborhood on the Edisto River.
This 2 bedroom, 1 bath home has 1 BR with a queen bed with views of the river.
Bedroom 2 has 2 full beds. Fully equipped kitchen, screen porch, and a front deck.
Also a covered dock with 2 swings overlooking the Edisto River.
Washer and dryer on site. Central AC and heat.
Also a outdoor charcoal grill and a fire pit area , charcoal and fire wood supplied.
Located 14 miles from I-95.
2 miles from Givhans Ferry State park. 25 minutes from Summerville, for great dining and shopping and hour from downtown Charleston.
This house is located in an older river neighborhood, the main road is a state maintained dirt road, in very good shape most of the time , only when it rains it gets a little bumpy.
In the past I have lived here full time for several years and loved the neighborhood. It's not a cookie cutter neighborhood and some of the homes are older, not lived in full time and may not be up kept like our rental property. The neighbors that do live there full time are great

Summary: This is the perfect place to relax and unwind. It is completely stocked with anything you could possibly need, it’s right on the river, it’s mostly private, and again so relaxing. We fished all weekend off the deck, had a fire in the fire pit, grilled dinner, and enjoyed the wifi at night watching movies. Also there is a convenient store MAYBE 10 minutes from the cabin that has a lot of stuff if you forget something. We will be back.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay! The description of the property and neighborhood in the listing is accurate. The pictures of the property and inside house on the listing are also accurate to what you see when you get there. The only thing to note is that the shower has a rain head type shower head (from the ceiling) and the water pressure is very low. So, for my daughter and myself (both have right below shoulder length hair) it took 5 good minutes to get our hair wet to wash it. But, there was plenty of hot water for a good shower, including the extra time for getting our hair wet. This would not deter us from renting the Edisto River Retreat in the future. It is about 30-40 minutes from Charleston (for anyone wondering). But we loved that when we went to Charleston we were routed through Summerville where we found several mom & pop type restaurants that we enjoyed!

Summary: I have just gone into remission from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. So me and my brother wanted to get away for the weekend to celebrate. This place is perfect on the river private. They have everything you need. I will definitely be back.

Summary: The cottage was very comfortable, the kitchen was equipped well with everything we needed. The view of the river and the covered deck by the river was awesome. There was some trouble with the hot water in the shower and some more hand towels for the bathroom would’ve been helpful.

Summary: It was a relaxing visit. The deck on the river is just perfect. We enjoyed a day of kayaking and walking through the Givhans Ferry State Park. The neighbors are friendly.
