Positive: Visited this quaint old hotel on the way up to Scotland. We were welcomed by very friendly relatively new owners. We enjoyed a great night in the bar playing pool, darts cards and even cranked up the Karaoke. Breakfast was plentiful with a full Scottish. Room was warm and comfortable.

Negative: Needed an extra couple of logs on the fire to keep the bar warmer, but it was a cold night.

Summary: Great place to stay and the owners have more plans for renovations and have started doing evening food

Positive: The property has undergone some major refurbishment since we last stayed and is lovely and clean and tidy. Our room was warm and everything we needed was there. Our television didn’t work, but Adrian promptly brought us a new one. Breakfast was wonderful, and cooked to how we liked it. Lots of choice as well as fresh fruit and cereals.

Negative: There is nothing we didn’t like about the hotel.

Summary: Lovely and quiet and to sit by an open fire is great.

Positive: Such a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff in this family run hotel. The room had everything we needed and the bed was comfy. Most importantly it was warm as we were staying on the coldest night for a decade. The breakfast was very good.

Positive: The new owner of the place who only just started running the place for about 5months kudos to them as they provided excellent service for us. The building itself is about 300 years old and is got very good history about the place, also is not far from where the aircraft crashed that happened in the 80s in Lockerbie village.

Negative: None as the new owner are trying to restore the place in a nice as possible.
