Positive: The cottage was absolutely gorgeous. You are nestled in a scene of greenery, with the beautiful mourne mountains as the view, it was beyond stunning. It was only a 10 minute drive from Newcastle which was ideal for our trip. A storm had hit just in time for our booking, which was unexpected and our plans had to change to adapt to this. However Claire and Kristoff were so lovely and accommodating, they did what they could to ensure our group could have the weekend that we planned, and I truly cannot thank them enough for all they did for us! The cottage was so comfortable to stay in, the open fire was so great to have, there is plenty of coal and logs to keep the fire going. There were loads of blankets to wrap yourself up in. The kitchen had everything you needed. The beds were also incredibly comfortable. To top it off, Claire had left a basket of local goodies which was such a kind gesture to be welcomed with. I truly could not recommend Drumena Cottage enough, as we certainly will be back!

Positive: Fantastic, charming cottage! The living room is one of the best I’ve ever seen, with a cozy fireplace on one wall and a large panoramic window facing the mountains on the other – perfect for enjoying the view. Claire is an exceptional host. She was always quick to respond to our messages, going above and beyond to help us. Her warmth and attentiveness made our stay even better. Before our arrival, Claire sent us a detailed 25-page PDF with everything we needed to know about the cottage and the surrounding area. We referred to it often, and it was incredibly helpful. Although we had some bad weather, the cottage was so enjoyable that it made the trip absolutely worth it. There were plenty of DVDs and board games to keep us entertained. The only sounds around us were those of nature, which was a wonderful bonus for us! We already booked another weekend there for next year!

Positive: Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area with view of the Mountains of Mourne. Excellent communication with host, Claire, and everything was ready for us when we arrived. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, comfy chairs and open fire add to the ambience. Would definitely stay here again.
