Positive: It astound me to see that Drifter is rated anything but a perfect 10! Great for a family looking for ski in ski out, clean, safe and warm accomodation. Our kids are 7 and 4 and found the access to the runs easy. The house comes with games and internet connectivity for Netflix, Disney etc… The facilities are modern and clean and inline with western expectation (private bathroom, cooking, washing and drying facilities) whilst exhibiting Japanese’s style. There was enough plates, bowls, cutlery etc.. to house an army and the cooking utensils to match. The house has a coffee machine, hot water for ramen and an old Asahi vending machine that’s prices reflect the year the machine was made. Chris, the host, could not have made our stay more enjoyable. He was readily available with any and all info on the area, ski hire, lift ticket etc. chauffeured, aided in grocery runs and mountain drop off. He even drove my daughter and I to hospital when she injured her leg skiing. This was the first of many trips to Myoko suginohara for our family staying at the Drifter. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Positive: Excellent breakfast, different everyday. Location perfect to ski to the lift and then ski right to the door. Great hosts and like minded guests make for a great stay. A selection of restaurants within walking distance. Town shuttle out the front to get into Myoko for transport.

Positive: Great ski-in ski-out location to Suginohara. Facilities were more than adequate. Hosts were absolutely lovely with phenomenal breakfasts each day.

Negative: Might be a bit hard to get around if you don’t have your own car as the surrounding restaurants and stores are very limited. Might need to walk and/or take the local bus.

Summary: Chris and Amy were very accommodating to our needs and have provided support. 100% would recommend if you are visiting.

Positive: Great Aussie breakfast. Different every day. Inn is a few minutes drive from Myoko Suginohara ski slopes, although you could ski there and walk from the inn to the slopes in a few minutes as well. This place makes you feel immediately at home. You get to know all the guests and breakfast and dinner are superb.

Negative: Rooms don't have attached bathrooms

Positive: Breakfast was very tasty each morning. And every day was different. The ingredients are fresh. The hosts were very accommodating with guests who were traveling to other resorts and served breakfast earlier. It's located off of one of the runs at Suginohara so we could snowboard right to the lodge. The beds were comfortable and each room could control its heat and a/c. For a sold-out weekend, the place never felt crowded. The vibe was great and being able to chit-chat with other travelers was nice. There are snacks and drinks to purchase. Tea, coffee, and fruit were readily available, free of charge.

Summary: Great vibe, location and amazing hosts. Very cozy stay.
