2 Bedroom Apartment in Marciana

Our apartment is called Ponente, like the wind. It has a small kitchen, bathroom and a staircase leads to the bedroom. The kitchen has microwave, electric kettle, toaster, fridge and two gas rings for cooking. We have dishes and pots. Towels and linen service at a surcharge. From the kitchen, which has a dining table for 2-3 people, you get to the veranda with separate entrance. We live in the adjacent Hauptahus. The Villa Shanti is surrounded by a magnificent 3000 sqm garden with palm trees, oleanders and fruit trees. We have Barbecuemöglichkeit and Strahligen to read or sunbathe in the garden. We have our own well with the best water quality (comparable to the Fonte Napoleone) and our own photovoltaic or solar system with which we are energetically supplied by the sun. We have air conditioning in the apartments at extra charge, both for the summer to cool, and for the winter for heating. Where we are at about 200 meters altitude and always a fresh wind blowing in the summer.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay! Christel, Chris and Federica, made our stay worthwhile with all their tips, advices and warmth! We loved the little appartement and the (although, unexpected) sharing of the terrace turned out great for us; we made friends with our Italian neighbours! The view up at Marciana and Monte Capane, from the terrace, is beautiful. The location of Villa Shanti, in the national park, was the exact right place for us. Away from the big tourist areas we have enjoyed nature and silence. It is convientely located so we were still able to go out for diner at night. Marciana and Poggio are nearby. Make sure to reserve a spot in the restaurants up there, because they are packed during the season. Travelling by car was a bit of a challenge since there is a lack of parking places in most cities. If we ever go back to Elba we will book an appartment at Villa Shanti again, but that time it will be the bigger one. Christel, Chris and Federica: thank you all so much! It is your warmth and kindness as well as that of our Italian neighbours that we will for ever remember when thinking of Elba.
