Unlike many homes in Idyllwild that are nestled deep in the forest, the Dramatic Geodesic Dome sits on the edge of Crestview Drive, offering sweeping views of the valley and even the ocean on the clearest days. Newly remodeled and now featuring AC and heat, the Dome is set on over 1.5 acres and includes three cozy fireplaces, a 26-foot vaulted ceiling in the living room, and a hot tub ideal for enjoying sunset views. The property backs up to a stunning 40-foot rock formation, with Native American acorn grinding bowls carved into the top—right where the views are best. Watch deer climb the hillside, dine indoors or out, and stargaze under crystal-clear mountain skies. Game Room & Sauna: The game room also serves as a 5th bedroom. For reservations made after July 1st, it’s included automatically. If your stay was booked before July 1st and you’d like access, please request it ahead of time. (Fees may apply to adding the Game room)
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING:

-Cancellations: Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a full refund, with a $150.00 cancellation charge. Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund, plus a $150.00 cancellation charge.
No Cancellations are Allowed for November, December, and January.
- Pets: Dogs are welcome, with a nightly fee per dog. If you plan to bring more than one, prior approval is required and additional fees may apply. For bookings made through third-party sites like Airbnb, the dog fee will be requested separately after your reservation is confirmed.
Other animals: Any pet other than a dog must be approved in advance. A flat fee of up to $500 may apply depending on the type of animal.
-Check-in instructions: On your arrival day, the reserving guest will receive a text with check-in instructions between 3:30 and 4:00 PM. Please stop by our office to retrieve your key from the lockbox.
-Parking: Free parking is available for 4 vehicles (Seasonal Restrictions Apply; chains are recommended in winter, and 4X4 is HIGHLY Recommended).

- Age restrictions: Due to the new County of Ordinance 927.2: We no longer accept reservations for anyone under 21 years of age.
- Seasonal wood delivery: If available, there is a $28 fee per bundle (approximately 20 pieces). Please provide at least 5 days' notice for a Friday arrival date or at least 3 days' notice for any other day of the week. Please note that there are no refunds for this service.
- Confirmation: Upon booking this property through Airbnb, New Spirit Vacation Homes will send you a direct email confirming your reservation. Attached to this confirmation will be a contract you need to review, sign, and send back within 24 hours.
- Incidentals: We reserve the right to request payment for any incidentals. This includes but is not limited to firewood, pet fees, special occasion requests, personal grocery drop-offs, pay-per-view movies or sporting events, and damaged property.

Summary: The dome was a great spot for our friend group pups to visit. It’s a short drive/walk into town, the view is incredible, the layout/space is really unique, the beds are comfy, and the kitchen is well equipped. The hot tub wasn’t cooperating for our stay which was a bit of a bummer, and there was a little more non-Vrbo paperwork than expected to lock in the rental, but overall I’d strongly recommend for those considering visiting.

Summary: Good: Beautiful view and cute outdoor spaces. Well stocked but missing some items including coffee. Property manager very responsive to fix problems with house. Bad: Property manager forces photographs of credit card and license and to sign an extra contract, none of which was REQUIRED when booking and they use an unvalidated system to store these so they need to add it to the property description. Tiny grill. A lot of items are broken like toilet seat cover, ripped leather couch and stairs, fridge did not work on arrival and spent hours with them to fix it. Acoustics carry all noise from downstairs to upstairs so difficult to sleep if people are awake.

Also, there’s no point in leaving because the views are absolutely amazing & the hot tub while watching the sunset is very relaxing! My husband brought his Sky Light Projector, which looked really cool on the ceiling of the dome at night time! I would book with this company again because of how clean & attention to detail everything was!

Reviewer Comments: We got switched to The Dome upon arrival (issue with the cabin we had reserved). The Dome is at the end of a cul-de-sac but quite isolated with amazing views at sunset. The hot tub is located away from the house, up a few flights of stairs to yield a tremendous view. Do this at sunset and you won't be disappointed at all. There could be slightly better lighting near the hot tub to aid in a nighttime session (quite dark otherwise). The main heater in the large living area was a bit temperamental but there are several space heaters throughout the house to keep rooms warm. The house is very well equipped, you'll lack for nothing, although they could use a real deal BBQ.
