To say that the views from this large home are "panoramic" is to diminish them: in truth, they are breathtaking in both scope and beauty. Wherever you look, you see either the snowy Sangre de Cristos, the twinkling lights of Santa Fe, the rolling foothills leading down to the Rio Grande Valley, or all of the above! And you don't have to be outdoors to do it: this home is full of enormous, floor-to-ceiling plate-glass windows that can make you feel as though you're hovering over the canyon. You will never, ever tire of the views from Dorthia Garden!
From the moment you pull up on the sweeping drive and see the fountain, you will know you're in for something very special at Dorthia Garden. Ornately carved double doors lead you into a huge common area, bathed in sunlight and furnished with a wealth of ultra-comfortable sofas and chairs. Flop down on the sectional or stretch out in the leather armchair, kick off your shoes, and revel in the knowledge that you need do absolutely nothing except enjoy your vacation in paradise!
One of the best features of Dorthia Garden is its spaciousness. Viga ceilings, a huge fireplace, handsome pillars, and a low dividing wall help to define the common area, but nothing is crowded, from the wide hallway to perfectly-placed furnishings. Your big group can really spread out here without bumping elbows, which contributes to the sense of calm and quiet you will experience even when the kids' computer games are beeping and the grown-ups are cheering over the big game on one of the many HDTVs.
Tear yourself away from this scene of comfort to admire the well-stocked kitchen and dining areas (there are at least 2!) in this house. The kitchen is curved, filled with light, and boasting the latest stainless-steel appliances (including 2 fridges and a second sink in the central island). All you add is groceries; everything else, from cookware and dishes to chef's knives, gadgets, and countertop appliances, is ready for you here.
Adjacent to the kitchen are two dining rooms, each with tables seating 6: one with a cozy breakfast-nook feel despite its large size and jaw-dropping views, and the other with even more panoramic vistas that suggest you are jutting out over a cliff! Hard to imagine a more spectacular setting for meals, games, and family gatherings.
And while the common areas are lovely, the bedrooms at Dorthia Garden are designed for total comfort and pampering. Summary: The property was breathtakingly beautiful with views to die for! Felt private and tucked away. Location was perfect and an easy drive to grocery store and downtown area. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out with 4 bedrooms downstairs each with their own en-suite bathroom and one more bed upstairs (only downside to that room was no bathroom, so we had to go downstairs in the middle of the night to use the half bath and also borrow one of the other rooms bathrooms to shower). The place was immaculate and was fully stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of towels and linens, extra pillows, and enough toilet paper, paper towels, etc that we didn’t have to buy any during our 6 day stay. The kitchen was a chefs dream and was well appointed and perfect for cooking big meals. The only thing we couldn’t find that we needed was a cheese grater and we purchased one and left it there. Loved all of the seating in the huge living room, there were 2 sofas, a sectional, and 2 comfy chairs. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out and have movie night. The only feedback I have is that the mattresses weren’t the greatest- the memory foam mattress in the primary bedroom had a big hump in the middle and not much support on the sides. Check in and check out was super easy. We had zero issues so didn’t have to communicate with the property owner/management. Overall, this place was a 10/10 and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

Summary: This is the first time I've ever booked with any home rental service. Calle Dorthia was beautiful, and spacious with stunning views. Vrbo made it easy, and Kokopelli, the property management company was very helpful during our stay. My only recommendation is to be more communicative prior to the actual booking. I had unanswered questions while I was debating between several properties for our family get together.

Summary: I've stayed in many VRBOs. This property is exceptional in all ways. The view from the living room is spectacular, as well as from the outdoor seating areas. The house is very spacious allowing guests private spaces and multiple places to gather for meals and socialization. I loved the Southwest and modern decor. The grounds are beautifully manicured. HIghly recommend!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. It was large enough to accommodate our group and had everything you could possibly need. The decor was beautiful and vistas stunning while you have your morning coffee. This was a very convenient location for sightseeing. I highly recommend and we hope to return again in the future.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at Dorthia Garden Retreat & Views! The property was very spacious for our group of 10 + 1 infant and it was very near Santa Fe plaza, great restaurants, and convenience / grocery stores. The property managers were very helpful and accommodating!

Summary: We loved everything about this house. There were a few things that needed some maintenance however. Blinds that weren’t working, a few windows that wouldn’t open, the upstairs lights wouldn’t turn on, etc. We hope that the property manager can have someone come out periodically to make sure everything is in working order. We had such a great stay though in beautiful Dorothea Garden Retreat.
