Positive: Great stay--I was expecting more of a dorm or hostel-style accommodation, but it was a (quite spacious by Japanese standards) room with private bathroom. For being part of a tower block hotel (rather than the in-the-ground ryokan experience), the ninth floor onsen was delightful and had both in- and outdoor pools with a nice view of downtown Fukui. Quick walk from here to the main train station, and lots of dining options nearby.
