Summary: Wonderful hotel. Beautifully maintained. Room was clean, lovely size. Good shower. Food was delicious. Buffet breakfast was lovely. All staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Only negative was a £10 charge to use the swimming pool and/or spa facilities, which I hadn't seen previously so was unaware of and so didn't swim, unfortunately. Look forward to returning soon, if possible!

Summary: Room was clean, however there were a couple of issues whcih were taken up promptly by the Duty Manager, Tracey. The maintenance needs a general overhaul, i feel.

Summary: The hotel itself is lovely and both dinner and the breakfast were great. The room was clean and there were great tea and coffee facilities. Unfortunately our remote didn’t work so I got the batteries changed and it still didn’t work so we gave up. The mattresses we had were concave and very soft so they weren’t comfortable to sleep on. We set our air con to 16 but didn’t cool the room, we got up in the night and put the fan on a higher speed but it didn’t help so we got up again turned it off and opened the window. Eventually the room cooled and we got to sleep but work up very tired. I think perhaps the rooms need a little refreshing and the mattresses updating, perhaps the air con looked at.

Summary: The reception, restaurant and bar areas are beautiful and if the whole hotel was to this standard, it would absolutely be worth the overnight rate. However, the rooms are tired and in need of updating. They are beautifully clean, but the decor is out dated the carpets were tired and puckered, and the air conditioning is ineffective (we did not complain as it was the middle of the night before we realised and were only staying one night). We had several rooms booked as a Business Event and everyone said the same so it isn't me being picky. The staff were very friendly at Reception, and our experience at the bar was excellent. The food we ordered in the Press restaurant at lunch did take a very long time to arrive and it wasn't even busy, but the food itself was good. The breakfast buffet was a little chaotic as we went at a peak time, but the space allocated in the restaurant for the number of guests is a little cramped and again, the hotel was not near full capacity in our opinion. That said, the bar areas and outdoor areas are beautiful and I'm sure the rest of the hotel will follow suit when investment allows. Huge potential to be outstanding, but right now it's just good.
