Positive: I had a wonderful last three nights in Seoul here. Although I could still hear some noise from upstairs (since this homestay is in an old apartment building), it seemed like the residents were trying their best to keep things quiet. During my first four nights in Seoul, I stayed in the Jung-gu Myeongdong area, and there was similar noise as well, so with those things, and considering the similar price, I didn’t expect complete silence. In this Songpa District area, it takes about 20 minutes by bus to get to Gangnam and about an hour to Myeongdong, which is quite far. But in return, I found the people here friendlier, less focused on fashion, and the atmosphere slower and nostalgic. I really liked that. Even though the building is old, everything is still convenient. You could easily find local restaurants, coffee shops here 🧡 On my last day, I caught a cold and felt terrible. I messaged the host to ask for a recommendation for a nutritious meal nearby, and she kindly ordered delivery for me, and even treated me without accepting payment. I was truly touched by that 🥺 I also booked an airport taxi service through the host. They only charged 75,000 won, which was cheaper than other quotes I received. I highly recommend staying here for the last one or two days of your trip in Seoul to experience a slower side of the city. It’s also very close to the charming Seokchon Lake Park and right next to Lotte Mall Jamsil. I’m sure you won’t feel bored staying here.
