Positive: Location. Lovely property.

Negative: Couldn’t check in until 5 pm. Asked if any chance of earlier check in as we’d just flown in from New Zealand that day and got told she’d let me know but never did. No internet! We could see there was but it was locked. No fridge, shampoo, face cloth etc. Only given 2 coffee pods and one teabag daily. Told off for filling rubbish bin instead of dumping in big bin around the side of the house. No lock on our door as told it was part of their house. Everything was the minimum requirement and felt unwelcoming.

Summary: Disappointing.

Positive: * Our room was clean and modern, good shower. * The pool was excellent - especially the diving board.

Negative: * We hadn’t realised our room would be part of the main family home and at times it felt like we were trespassing in someone else’s space. Perhaps not helped by the fact that our host was away. * There aren’t many local restaurants open at this time of year - most were closed for the summer - and some local advice on where to go would have been helpful. * There was no lock on the door to our room which we found very unusual - and a little uncomfortable. * There is a LOT of building work going on on-site. I’m sure it will look lovely eventually but the whole site looked very different from the photos on booking.com.
