Negative: I can’t think of anything other than there were not enough blankets but they solved that problem after being asked

Positive: The owners were very nice and accommodating. They helped me rent a scooter and gave suggestions for nearby things to do. They also offered breakfast dinner options which were delicious! I would definitely stay here again.

Positive: We arrived very early on an overnight train, where we hardly got any sleep. Dolphin home quickly answered my message before 6 am and opened up the door for us to come inside and even sleep on the communal area couches for a couple hours before our room was ever ready.

Positive: A really pleasant stay in Dong Hoi. My room was simple but had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Everything was incredibly clean, one of the cleanest places I've stayed at in Vietnam. The host family are really informative and super friendly, and the free bicycles they provide are a great way to explore the area. The green rooftop terrace has great views over the water, and the location is super central and convenient.

Negative: The only thing I would've liked to have is the option to refill my water bottle, rather than having to buy plastic bottles.

Positive: Incredibly friendly and thoughtful family that run the property. They were incredibly accommodating to my travel plans and looked after me after my check-out whilst waiting for my train! They also run trips to the Phong Nha caves which are significantly cheaper than on GetYourGuide.

Negative: The bedroom was comfortable and clean, but the had a little bit of a damp smell.

Summary: Excellent value for money, clean and comfortable with amazing hosts!

Positive: Very friendly family. Helped us with transport. Delicious breakfast. Location is great, right by the river and the promenade is lovely to walk up and down, even in not so good weather 😊 Dong Hoi is a fantastic city, the food is incredible. Don't be shy to sit down at a local place by the side of the road and ask what food they serve. The room itself, whilst small, has everything you need and ours even had a nice little balcony. The common area includes a lovely rooftop place with lots of seating, perfect for sitting and relaxing for a couple of hours. Fantastic value for money too!
