Positive: We reserved this place to see the diyaluma falls in the early morning (in this period in the afternoon there is too much water). The host has been fantastic! There was an electricity problem that day so he brought has with his tuk tuk to its friend restaurant where we had a very good dinner! Next morning at 6 he took us at the top of diyaluma falls (he is a local guide) explaining things and taking pictures. Back at the accomodation, we had our favorite local breakfast of our trip! Very good and very abundant. Very good experience and very good time there!

Positive: Comfortable accommodation, love the cabin style. The hosts are lovely, I would highly recommend their curry dinner, it was delicious, best we’ve had in Sri Lanka and we’ve been travelling for 3 weeks!

Positive: Everything was fine, the view is stunning, breakfast served as for 4 persons (while we have been two of us). Owners friendly and hospitable. In the evening we walked to the waterfall and had a nice dip before sleep. Location is just perfect.

Positive: If you want to enjoy the waterfall early in the morning and be alone during two hours before other tourist! Don't hesitate, choose this homestay, Upali the owner will be helpful. His wife is an excellent cooker and the room with the terrace is perfect to eat and have a direct view to the waterfall. Take this time and this homestay and enjoy it.

Positive: This was our favorite stay in our entire two-and-a-half-week road trip through Sri Lanka! Staying at the Diyaluma View Cottage was a breath of fresh air and welcome getaway after a busy few days in Ella. The cabin is positioned perfectly to provide a jungle view of the Lower Diyaluma Falls from the terrace and offers a quiet retreat for a solo traveler, couple, or small family looking to immerse themselves in nature. In the evening, we were treated to beautiful sunset views of the falls and surrounding jungle from the cottage. The host then arranged a cooking class for us at a local village kitchen, so we were able to learn how to prepare traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry with farm-fresh ingredients and natural cooking instruments. In the morning, we were able to hike up to the Upper Diyaluma Falls and enjoy the infinity pools and panoramic views of the jungle all to ourselves before the crowds began to arrive. From the top of the falls, we could even look down and see the cabin! It was quite the surreal, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Upon return from the waterfalls, our hosts treated us to a beautiful Sri Lankan breakfast on the terrace with the view of the Lower Diyaluma Falls and company of the host’s family dog Lucky. This alone was one of the highlights of our trip, as my husband and I felt like we were on our honeymoon all over again! We would highly recommend staying at the Diyaluma View Cottage on your next visit to Sri Lanka!
