Positive: The attention to detail inside the condo was very apparent. From the laundry detergent and spare charge to do a couple loads of laundry, to the box of chocolates. The rooms have been updated and the kitchen was stocked with bakeware and spices to make it convenient to cook meals.

Negative: From the outside, the appearance leaves something to be desired, but I did see signs for construction so they maybe working on upgrading. Inside, my only complaint would be the shower curtain. It was in need of replacing and when you took a shower, it swung on inside and would touch you while showering. My suggestion would be to install shower doors.

Positive: Dislikes. Only a single key provided and was needed for elevator which meant my family had to always be together. Building itself was a little run down. Only one room had air conditioning unit and it was loud. Likes. Unit was comfortable. Kitchen was small but had everything that was needed. Beach chairs and umbrella was provided. Beds were very comfortable. Ocean view was good. We did stay in Kona first and then moved to Hilo. Hilo is not nearly as beautiful as Kona so that may have soured this review some which has nothing to do with the unit.

Positive: We just spent two weeks at this property and it was a great experience! The condo was clean, the king bed was very comfortable, and the amenities were well thought out. But what really made this stay special was the location! The Carl Smith Beach Park is a fabulous place to snorkel, swim, picnic, or sunbathe - whatever you want to do all in a sheltered lagoon which is about a five minute walk from the condo and you don’t have to worry about parking. The enclosed patio is beautiful space where we could watch the waves and whales! Highly recommend!

Positive: Beautiful view , quiet, serene. Ample space for two people.

Negative: No place to walk from this property except the lovely Carlsmith Park next door. There is no room for pedestrians on the very busy highway. Towels provided were few and not very clean.

Positive: Of the various apartments I have stayed in, this had the best stocked kitchen. Not only was there a good selection of plates and cooking pans, but the knives were actually sharp and there was even a selection of spices.

Summary: The location was great and the updated apartment was very comfortable for our family of 4.

Positive: Direct Ocean front at Carlsmith Beach Park. Wonderful screened in Lanai with ocean view. Fully equipped kitchen and nice linens and towels. Excellent communication with property manager who was so kind to us! Perfect Hilo location! Love the Hilo local vibe and the great people there!!
