Negative: the street up to the house was extremely narrow and difficult to navigate when other cars were on the road

Positive: The house is well kept, spacious and stocked with everything from utensils to board games (Even including a First Aid kit). I personally quite liked the interior design and feel of the house. As a minor gripe, leaving a stone wall in the shower is a very hip, but questionable decision. There is a lot of space both inside and out. A small barbecue is also present so you could have a small gathering in the “yard”.

Negative: The location is somewhat questionable. The village is small and pleasant, but somewhat rundown. The property is surrounded by abandoned house on wither side. During the day it’s fine, but at night it may be too quiet for some people. The view from the balcony is very nice though. The second bed is placed right below a roof section, it would be very hot to sleep there (Unless the AC has been running all day. This would only be a problem for four guest as the main bedroom is very comfortable.

Positive: Probably the first place where we stayed where the reality exceeds the property photos. This is a gem! Beautiful, tastefully restored little house in a quiet remote village which is really close to Heraklion by car, just in 10 minutes you suddenly find yourself in a different world than the touristy seashore, a piece of traditional, rural Crete. But be aware, you do need a car - which is cheap to rent in Crete anyway. The owners left some tasty local products for us (honey, butter, marmalade, some bakery product, olive oil, even raki!) so we didn't have to care about the first breakfast. There is a place to park just in front of the house which is very convenient. (Don't be shy on the narrow streets that leads there, the car will fit).

Negative: We loved everything so this is only a friendly note for those who perhaps expect something else: - the place is in a small village which is more or less abandoned, some of houses are in ruins and there are no neighbours or any village life apart from the street cats - hence there is no restaurant or any shop BUT please walk over to the next village, Pentamodi (ca. 1km, 10-15min) and there is a lovely, small family-run restaurant called "Kafenion mezedopoleio" (google it) offering inexpensive, tasty local food with super friendly locals, we ate there twice - this is a very quiet place but a rooster occasionally may start his morning ritual quite early - but hey this is a village after all! :)
