Positive: Amazing service. We got upgraded upon arrival. The staff in this hotel were so nice and friendly which is just what we needed as western travellers. We extended our stay by another 3 days when we got there and the owner was very helpful in supporting this. The gardens are beautiful and full of wildlife it made us feel really tranquil on an evening after the hustle and bustle of Jaipur. Food in the restaurant was lovely! There was some maintenance going on as its ’off season’ but this is very common for India during monsoon season

Positive: Diggi Palace is located on luscious grounds where squirrels and peacocks roam all around. It was an amazing sight to behold. The staff were amazing in all aspects of our stay.

Negative: The room itself was good the only downside was we were sleeping in two twin beds pushed together. The decor of the room although simple could be updated. The pool was lovely although needs to be regularly cleaned as there was lots of bugs and leaves.

Positive: The courtyard, restaurant outdoor seating, pool area, and in general the public access properties are very good. Beautiful garden with peacocks strutting by and flying most of the time. The staff and the manager were very good and the property was generally safe, except for a small incident which I’m choosing not to mention giving the hotel the benefit of the doubt as they did their best to solve it.

Negative: The rooms did not meet my expectations, upholstery on armchairs and sofas was dirty; I expected a predominantly indian design seating and arches, which wasn’t the case; there is no clear room divisions and designated seating spaces as shown in the pictures and is just a standard room like at normal hotels - the sofas were cheap looking and defeated the entire purpose of why I went to the property.

Positive: Such a great hotel. Gorgeous heritage building, so steeped in Jaipur and Indian history. Particular loved the garden- what a lush sanctuary it is for so many bird species and striped squirrels.. and to see wild parrots, peacocks and Scops owls is quite something at any time, and especially unexpected when you're in the middle of the big city! A very soothing, well-nurtured environment. The pool is also so stunning and the umbrellas are very stylish. Reviewed by @CAPETOWNDIVA

Negative: COMMON PUBLIC SPACES: The hotel has pockets that are a bit messy, and look quite run-down here and there, that I feel can be sorted out with minimal effort and cost. I disliked the use of cheap (blue) plastic carpets here and there, probably practical, but so out of sorts with the style of the place. ROOM: The palace suite we stayed in had double doors that open onto a verandah- a mesh anti-bug screen there (like a drop-down blind perhaps-would be great installed there so one could keep the doors open to hear the birdsong during the day and night. POOL: I also feel there should be a pool service for drinks. Andmore chaise lounges at the pool would be great- there are currently only 4 which is not nearly enough. And the shower at the pool, inside the bathroom area on the left, is not working. FEATURES: I was also wondering why the fountain outside the main entrance is not working.

Positive: Firstly, the heritage architecture was unbelievable! A throwback to another era where the facade & most embellishing decor elements have been well preserved. Secondly the lush gardens & flourishing bird life! Just WOW! From the pride of parading peacocks to the swooping green parrots, Scops owls, waders & miner birds, Diggi Palace is a nature sanctuary, a veritable haven. You’d never say that the chaos of the city is a mere 5 minutes away.. the environment, birdsong & peacock cries do much to absorb the traffic sounds as well as reduce the summer temperatures. Just shows what happens when we allow nature to thrive in an urban setting!

Negative: Nothing! I do feel that certain parts need some TLC. Perhaps the shower heads could be bigger & parts of the building could be restored. I would also take out all synthetic carpets in favour of cretestone floors or something more natural. Just my ideas 🤩
