Our comfortable detached cottage is perfect for a relaxing, countryside holiday in summer or winter. We have an outdoor pool for the summer and central heating & a wood burner for the winter months. We are in a quiet rural location with excellent views over open country. The house is sited within a 3.5 acre plot with over 1 acre dedicated to the gite. Whilst we are 5 minutes drive from the local shops we are just a few minutes from the main highways with easy access to Laval and Le Mans which are just half an hour away. There are many excellent local restaurants, Debra and David will be happy to give you directions to these and all the local attractions upon your arrival. The garden, pool, children's play area, summer house, patio and BBQ are for the exclusive use of our guests. If booking for Christmas a free bottle of champagne is included in your welcome pack.

Summary: We had al lovely stay at the cottage. We arrived when all stores were closed. Luckily Debra informed us about that and already did some shopping for us, which was very kind. The cottage is very complete and the beds are perfect. Our children had a lot of fun playing in the pool and the playground

Summary: Debra and David were great hosts, from the communications prior to our arrival to the meet and greet when they showed us everything we needed to know before leaving us to enjoy our lovely corner of France. Our younger boys loved the play-park equipment and our older son loved the 'office chair' which was his area when they werent all in the splash pool. enjoyed some great days out to Les Mans 24hour musee and the local caves. Thank you. Highly Recommend!

Summary: We’ve just got back from a week at this lovely cottage. Debra and David have a gorgeous place, very relaxing, we felt at home right away. The cottage is well equipped, Debra has really thought of everything. All cleaning products are provided which is refreshing, we’ve been to many gites where the first thing you have to do is shop for washing up liquid!! There is an English socket bank so you can charge all your electrical items, a Nespresso machine, two hairdryers, and a basket of toiletries that others have ‘left behind’ so if you’ve forgotten something it’s likely to be there! The beds are comfy and the sheets a fabulous cotton. Should it get colder at night there are blankets in every cupboard. The cottage itself is quite isolated which means a fantastic nights sleep, there’s no light and no sound until a local cockerel sings and you get used to him quite quickly. The villages around are beautiful and many hours can be spent pottering. Debra has lots of local knowledge so was able help us with places to go and see which was very useful. There is a lake down the road with otters which was special. The swimming pool at the cottage is beautifully maintained by David and reaches a good temperature using a clever solar cover. There are lots of inflatables and balls to play with. Dotted around the garden are several chairs so you can hide away or chase the sun. The VIP shed is a lovely idea for cooler evenings so you can still eat outside and the dart board on the side became one of my sons favourite things, I’m sure we will have one soon :-) There was even an owl hunt for the children and a few local goodies as gifts on our arrival which were delicious. Thank you so much for a really lovely holiday.

Summary: Debra and David are very helpful and welcoming, they did an Easter egg hunt for our children as we arrived on Good Friday which we all loved and was finding eggs for the rest of the holiday. La Bonne Marie is very comfortable and has everything you need for self catering accommodation and more, it felt like being at home. The outside area is great and safe for children and loads of room to run about and use of the large playground, the gardens are beautifully kept and I even spotted Owls at night! We didn’t use the pool as it was too cold (weather wise). There are plenty of sun traps to relax in with sun loungers. Again there are loads of outdoor games for adults and children. Inside the La Bonne Marie there are DVDs, English TV, loads of tourists information and an informative welcome pack. We had a great stay and would recommend it.

Summary: This property has every comfort from home and more whatever age you are. The owners go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and stress free. If you have children there are wonderful facilities if not every comfort inside and out with swimming pool. Close to places to visit and Le Mans only 30 minutes away and the roads are fantastic. Lovely town nearby, Evron with supermarket, farmers markets and restaurants. We would highly recommend this property for a stay at any time of year.

Summary: As we entered the beautiful grounds of La Bonne Marie on Christmas Eve, it felt like we had stepped into a fairy tale. The grounds are breath-taking and the views really take you by surprise. We could not stop smiling and saying ”wow”! The peacefulness we felt was instant. The very kind and generous owners, Debra and David, had thought of everything, from decorating the cottage with Christmas tree, lights and candles, with even the table laid out for our Christmas dinner, and presents wrapped up for us and our dog! We have never received such a warm welcome anywhere. La Bonne Marie is not a holiday home, it feels like a home, and not only that, but a home with a soul. The atmosphere in the cottage is truly special, it is very romantic and cosy, and you just feel like you don’t want to leave the house at all. Every time we went out somewhere, it was so nice to come back – it almost felt like the cottage wanted to say ”welcome home, you have been missed”.  Our dog had the best Christmas of her life, we hardly saw her! She was playing in the beautiful, huge garden all day long, and her happiness was so nice to see. When we had packed up and were ready to go home, she refused to go in the car, and was standing inside the cottage with the saddest eyes ever, saying ”Please can I stay here forever”! Thank you Debra and David for the most wonderful time, for helping us out with our car trouble (we would not have made it back home without you), for organising the vet, for our presents and all the extras, and most importantly, for giving us the spirit of Christmas which we had lost back home. This is how every holiday home business should be ran – with a big, big heart!

Summary: Having gone to France to look for a new home I was lucky enough to stay at La Bonne Marie owned by Debra and David. Myself and and my 3 spaniels had the best time ever and when not house hunting we stayed put on site because everything we wanted was there for us. Debra even arranged for me to go to her Vet for my dog passport requirements for returning home. The Gite is just perfect and we topped it off with the most amazing weather ever. The Gite itself had everything I needed. It was clean, comfortable and warm, really home from home and very well furnished. The gardens which are totally private allowed the dogs to play and sleep in the sunshine for hours on end and allowed them so much freedom. The supermarket is only a short drive away but the Gite itself is so central for going anywhere really for days out. One tip I did find in the end that by actually putting La Bonne Marie and the postal code into my sat nav, it came straight up pointing at the property and took me right to the front door, which I found very handy after days of house hunting and all roads looking the same in the end. Debra and David are 2 of the nicest people you could meet. Debra runs a tight ship and is always very friendly and helpful in fact she was so nice I was able to run past her the properties I was looking at, and the advice she gave me on buying in France was really very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for her. David.......Well David bless him, helped me out when my car developed a problem but it was sorted in double quick time and back on the road. I wish Debra and David all the very best at La Bonne Marie and have already recommended it to numerous friends of mine. Anyone going there will have a lovey relaxing holiday in beautiful tranquil surroundings, and I bet they spend most of their holiday at the Gite instead of going out for the day because it has everything you would want. Summary: Our family of 2 adults, 2 children aged 9 & 6 and our lively spaniel spent a relaxing and fun week in this glorious gite. Everything has been thought of to keep the whole family entertained, including the fantastic pool and extensive gardens and play area.
