Mas de Gibert is an old stone farmhouse standing in 3 acres of its own grounds and surrounded by open countryside, Throughout we have endeavored to create an ambience that is in keeping with its essential character whilst providing comfort and originality.
The farmhouse is beautifully cool and spacious with accommodation on two floors.
Stone steps lead up from the flower filled courtyard taking you into a fully equipped kitchen with dining table and chairs and onto the lounge with wood burning stove, comfy chairs and sofa. From the lounge there is a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom ( toilet, shower, sink. There is another door off the lounge onto a large balcony for outdoor eating and relaxing with a staircase leading through a garden to the pool for your sole use
The entrance to the ground floor is off the courtyard. As you enter there is a room with a double bed. Leading off this room there is a bathroom (bath, sink,toilet and shower) and another double bedroom with two single beds and french windows which leads out to the back terrace.
Outdoors there is a variety of places to sit and relax with much mature planting. There is a flower lined path to the pool area which has security gates. The pool using a salt system is 10mx5m with large rectangular steps. The depth of the shallow end is approx 1 mtr with a deep end of just under 2 mtrs. There is a large expanse of terrace around the pool surrounded by flowerbeds with recliners, parasols, table and chairs with a hammock in a shady corner. My partner and I live in the adjoining barn which faces away from the Gîte and is quite private.

Summary: This place is really perfect, the well equiped old house with lovely gardens all around feels like home. Garden furniture and umbrella’s everywhere, always a place to find in the sun or just in the shadows. The pool is fantastic. Host Alison was very kind and helpful. She lives next door with her husband but you’ll never see them and they let you enjoy in privacy. We really didn’t want to leave...

Summary: This was our forth stay at Ginals and as always it was wonderful. The house is very nice and well equipped. The garden and pool are beautiful and the location is lovely and peaceful. We had a very relaxing week and hope to return next year.

Summary: The salt water swimming is incredible, it was so much nicer than a chlorinated one, we all loved it. The house has a lovely rustic charm and all the plants around the house attract all kinds of bees and insects, to walk down to the pool and hear them all is amazing. The planting around the swimming pool is the same, it’s beautiful. If you’re after a peaceful quiet place this ticks all the boxes. It’s a 30 min drive to a supermarket, but you can’t have peaceful and quiet with one next door. The kids loved the house, it has acres of land and they could wonder off happily. Highly recommended

Summary: We were looking for a house with character and a pool in this part of France. We are a family of five, the accommodation worked perfectly. The house has been renovated with character and the bathrooms are modern. The pool was the big draw and we spent a lot time there. The planting between the house and the pool has been done with a great deal of care and attracts butterflies and bees by the score. From the balcony at the back of the house where we had most of our meals we watched a family of owls in the barn opposite. We would go to Verfeil to get bread ( 10 min drive), Caylus and St Antonin for shopping( both very pretty), the local markets are fabulous with the most amazing fruit and veg. If you want to get away this place is wonderful. Even our kids loved it. And if you like dogs then the owner's dog, Eddy, is a charmer and you won't be able to resist her company

Summary: We had a fantastic time at Ginals. We stayed last year and had such a good time that we returned this year. The house is lovely and is very well equipped. Having a pool to ourselves is great. Our daughter loves it, getting in the pool every day. It is in a really quite location but there are plenty of places to visit within a short drive. We hope to return next year.

Summary: We returned this Summer after visiting last year as we loved it so much and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrive we relax immediately and it really is our most favourite property that we have visited on our many years of trips to France. We never normally return to the same place twice but we broke our rule this year and I know we will be back again one day.

Summary: Gibert is all charm and tranquility. The farmhouse is very comfortable and full of character. The pool area is magnificent and the whole property is full of interesting trees and plants, with lots of colour and a wide variety of interesting smells! We especially liked the fig trees and the plum trees, and of course the vegetable and herb gardens. We were a family of five, including small children, and we all had such a fabulous time we hardly moved from the property all week. (Nb: we did spot the comment in the last review about the suitability of the property for small children, but to be honest we didn't see this as an issue at all. The steps between the two floors are easily negotiated and if we had had any qualms about our smallest child being downstairs we would have taken the double room next to the room where the single beds are rather than the one upstairs.)

Summary: This property was simply beautiful! The pool area was so lovely and well equipped as was the whole property. It would not be suitable for a family with young children as you have to go outside and down steps to the 2 other bedrooms, but apart from that, this property really is a little piece of paradise, set in the most stunning area of France and set in a small hamlet and not overlooked in the slightest. Very private.
