1 Bedroom Cottage in Machynlleth

The house is located on the south side of the Snowdonia National Park and is an end of terrace house which, back in 1826, was a weavers cottage.
The Snowdonia National Park is 5 miles away. Other attractions are the Centre for Alternative Technology, Nature Reserves, Talyllyn Railway, Devils Bridge and seaside Aberdovey and Borth. There are superb footpaths for walkers and trails for mountain bikers. The house sleeps four people - there is a double bed upstairs with a single blow up bed and a sofa bed in the sitting room. The house offers clean, basic facilities and there is an excellent cleaner who cleans at the start of your stay and at the end. All linen and 4 towels are provided, but do bring extra towels if you require them. We provide cotton sheets and a comfortable beds.
The staircase is a typical cottage style and is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties.
Children are very welcome but as there is a cottage style staircase, please do make them aware that they must walk and not run up and down the stairs.
This is a clean, simple Welsh cottage in a beautiful area close to much of the best of Wales. If you are looking for well placed accommodation with lots of traditional features then this is the perfect little cottage for your stay. Light the fire when you arrive and the atmosphere is delightful.
The house has a small front garden, a patio at the back and a large side garden. The house is in an ideal area for exploring the Snowdonia National Park.
There is a store of logs which you are welcome to use.
There are a number of very good restaurants in the area and lots of beautiful picnic spots. I can send you a list of interesting places to visit, fantastic picnic spots and spectacular scenery.

Summary: We loved this property. It’s beautiful and has everything you need including wood and blankets to keep warm if needed. Lovely garden and a quiet area. It is cold in there (even in August) so maybe take slippers with you! We can’t wait to go back

Summary: Lovely little cottage and we loved the fire,the only down side was the gardens not dog friendly not secure couldn't leave them off theyre leads as we where right on a busy main road.

Summary: Enjoyed our break and it was a good base to explore from so we really didnt spend much time at the cottage. It is as described ...very basic, but it was enough for our 3 nights. It's perfect size for 2 but a bit cramped with 4 as you have to use the sofa bed. So that really left us struggling to chill out after a long day walking/exploring. We would end up sitting on the dining rooms chairs. The bedroom upstairs is very spacious and the bed is lovely and comfy. Bathroom has been recently done and is small. As one previous review noted - no mirror and there was plenty of wall space for one. Overall a nice little break for us all and fortunate with the weather too.

Summary: We enjoyed are stay in the cottage. All in all everything one needs. It was beforehand clear that it is small, no WiFi and no high quality TV only a small one, from our side no problem, because we went out to see the countryside and didn't stay all day in, and in the evening we were tired. Only the stairs from the bedroom can be a bit challenging, especially if one needs to go to the toilet in the night :) The garden is more than enough for a dog and we only went out together with our dog, so also no problem with escaping. Nice neighbours... Should we come around again to that area, we would try to stay there again.

Summary: A nice little cottage in a quite part of mid Wales, just on the bottom edge of the Snowdonia national park. A nice little base for getting out and about. We used it for one week and would use it again. A car is a must as this is a very quite location with easy access to local villages and towns. The cottage has everything in it that you would require for a holiday. A nice little patio area to enjoy a glass of wine or two with an evening meal.

Summary: If you are looking for a genuine old welsh cottage, away from it all, then this might be what you’re looking for. 15mins drive from Machynlleth, 45mins to Aberdovey, Ynylas and Borth. Deer House is surrounded by hills, and mountain views - with plenty of trails to explore. Machynlleth has a wide variety of shops, pubs and places to eat. Market day is Wednesday morning and well worth a visit. The cottage is cosy, and with the added bonus of a log burner which keeps the chilly evenings warm. You’ll find the property in good order throughout with all you’ll need for a pleasant stay. A small but well equipped kitchen, small bathroom with bath and shower, a delightful living room with dining table, sofa bed, log burner, TV, DVD and Freeview. Upstairs there is a large double sized bedroom with comfortable mattress. The stairs need to be taken carefully and definitely NOT for younger children or the less agile. You’ll find most of the furniture and items are from IKEA, so it gives you an idea of the quality of this place. The property is ideal for little dogs, although note that the garden boundary fencing isn’t designed to stop your little terriers from going awol! With a busy main road, it’s best to keep your eye on them. There is limited parking available. Concerning communication and assistance by the owner - absolutely first class. Amazing! Would I recommend it to friends and family? Most definitely.
