Positive: The apartment was even nicer than I expected. There is an incredible panoramic view of Leuven through the windows of the apartment on the 9th floor. The apartment was well furnished and equipped. Having the bar/café downstairs was especially nice. The location is also very nice and within walking distance of the city center.

Negative: Using the app to be able to unlock the elevator in the evenings to go up to the apartment did not work as there is no signal inside the elevator. So, I had to ask for help at the bar or take the stairs a few times until I was given a badge to unlock the elevator in the evenings. The staff said they are working on resolving this issue though. Only other minor issues with the apartment were that it did not come with any soap for washing hands or dishes and that the bathroom with the shower was not as nice as the rest of the apartment.

Summary: Very comfortable apartment with amazing panoramic view!

Positive: The 10.3 loft is beautiful, spacious, with excellent views of Leuven. The bed is very comfortable. I like the open floor plan with the extra storage area adjacent to the bed but out of sight. The room was very quiet. Although the bar and restaurant were closed due to the Christmas holiday, we were able to take advantage before they closed and the food and drinks are excellent. Having a kitchenette is great.

Negative: A couple extra pillows on the bed (so two per person) would have been nice. There was no hairdryer in the bathroom, but that may be something I overlooked in the description. It was no issue for us. I did have to check under the bed for a dropped item and it was dusty, as was the plant. We don’t care but some people would.

Positive: It’ very clean and has a lot of natural light. The accommodation was extremely comfortable ie including the furniture . It was great having a nice and large Smart TV. The cupboard space was great.

Negative: The corridors tend to smell cause the garbage is collected every day. Also it’s a slightly long walk to the City Center.

Positive: The apartment (on the 9th floor) had a wonderful view southward over Leuven. Opening the floor-to-ceiling windows provided a good breeze. Given we were two people, it was useful having separate rooms for toilet/sink and for shower/sink. Because de Hoorn was in the northern part of the city, it was quite quiet, but a healthy walk to the central part of the city and the train station. I liked de Hoorn's provisions for recycling nearly everything!

Negative: While there was a washer and dryer for use by all the apartments on the floor, there was no drying frame, so I had to borrow extra hangers to dry the many things I didn't want to use a dryer for. There were also no instructions for using the cooktop or oven, so one had to figure it out. In the end, I gave up trying to use the oven. But there is not alot to complain about, and I'm sure that everyone who stays at de Hoorn will enjoy their stay.
