Positive: Our stay at Dar Kbira was truly exceptional from beginning to end. The accommodation enjoys a fantastic location in the heart of Sidi Bou Said, close to everything, with breathtaking views over the ocean that make the experience even more special. The hotel itself is elegantly decorated with great style, creating a warm and refined atmosphere. Our room was incredibly comfortable and spacious, making it easy to relax and fully enjoy our time there. What truly sets Dar Kbira apart, however, is the outstanding attention from the staff. Samila, the owner, took care of every detail from the very beginning, ensuring everything went smoothly. Faten, who works at the hotel, was always attentive and thoughtful — coordinating our airport transfers both on arrival and departure, and even arranging breakfast for us on our last day when we had to leave very early. The breakfasts at the hotel are spectacular, featuring a strong local character, and the cook is clearly a top-level pastry chef. The matcha tea tiramisu she let us try was simply a dream. By far, this experience is much better than staying at a chain hotel. Dar Kbira offers relaxation, tranquility, personalized care, and wonderful local recommendations. I would definitely return without hesitation and recommend it 100%.

Positive: Clean and newly renovated hotel with a wonderful view and a great location. You’ll be a couple minutes away from all that’s to see in Sidi Bou Said and the taxi to Carthage costed less than 4 DT. The staff is lovely, really took care of us when we fell sick, everything is extremely clean and the decoration is beautiful.

Negative: We had a great stay but felt the value for money is not great. We stayed in the double room and it was fairly small, with a very little window by the street, and loud at night. For similar prices, there’s nicer rooms and facilities in the area. One thing that surprised us, it’s that they charged an extra 10DTs if you wanted to have a tea. In our experience in Tunisia, tea is often given for free, and you’d expect that especially in a hotel with this price.

Positive: Dar Kbira is a beautifully restored old Tunisian mansion that is located in a prime position in Sidi Bou Said, a three minute walk from the busy main street, yet delightfully separated from the hustle and bustle of the village centre. The views from the hotel’s huge terrace are mind blowing. Selima, one of the owners and Fatel, the manager are attentive to their guests and ensure that their clients are very well taken care of. They are very helpful to new comers and extremely caring with their guests who may need more help. The rooms are elegantly fitted out with tasteful furnishings , comfortable beds and wonderful art. Our room consisted of a bedroom with views out to the terrace, a sitting room with a sofa and a desk, a dressing room with lots of space for your clothes and bags, and a delightfully modern bathroom. We spent a week there during a period of some very bad winter storms, and although we were forced to spend a lot of time in our nice warm room, it was a pleasure to be there. The glassed in central courtyard with its dramatic over-arching orange tree lit up at night with fairy lights, is the most beautiful place to be, and completely magical at night; the wonderful and extensive breakfast is served in there, and we were lucky enough to be there for a guest dinner, their first, that was a huge success. We would very happily return to Dar Kbira whenever we return to Sidi Bou Said, it is truly one of the most charming small hotels we have ever stayed in. If you are lucky enough to spend time with Selima and Fatel, I am sure you will feel the same.

Positive: We felt like in Home it was very safe and boutique exprience.Everything was very detailed furniture to even the porcelains.Selima is a great owner She gave us local recommendations she was very friendly even check in to check out she was with us like a friend .Dar Kbira is a very clean and newly renovated Sidi Bou Said house.Looks traditional but inside is renovated nicely.AC works well..Breakfast is really good.Definietly recommend
