Positive: I revisited fes forty two years ago and finally returned for an extended stay. I liked that the Dar was small and during the day it felt quiet and most like a home. I appreciated having someone available to assist with questions etc.

Negative: I would love to be able to have a cup of tea or coffee when I returned each day

Positive: Such a beautiful Riad with traditional features, comfortable rooms and lovely breakfast. Kenza our host couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful, even packing us a breakfast when we had to leave early for an organised tour. We loved the location and it was easy to find.

Positive: Dar Hayati provided us with a comfortable stay in a heated room. Kenza offered fine hospitality, and a breakfast was served each day. The Wi-Fi worked well.

Negative: The location is a bit out of the way from the main medina. A porter is useful in getting bags to and from the dar.

Positive: This was in such an excellent location, only minutes from many nice restaurants and easy to see all the best parts of Fes. We also found navigating back really easy (even at night) which is important here! The hosts were so friendly and even made us up a to-go breakfast when we had to leave early for a train. If you’re getting a taxi/train very early like we were you have to walk to the Blue Gate but this is only 10 mins away and was quiet and safe (we did it at 5am).

Negative: Our only issue is that the towels and room were a bit damp/cold but that also might just be that we visited during a lot of rain in the winter.

Summary: Perfect for a couple of days in Fes!

Positive: Dar Hayati is in a great location. It's near one of the main streets of the medina, but it's tucked away in a quiet location. The Blue Gate is about 10 minutes away and there's a parking lot that's very close too. This is helpful because you will not have to pull your luggage very from when you arrive by car to the medina. The stay was clean and quite comfortable. My room had A/C and heating. Breakfast is included. They also offer laundry services. Kenza helps manage three place. She's great! She goes out of her way to take care of guests. 👍🏼
