Positive: The hosts were a very kind young couple who genuinely made an effort to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They gladly provided everything we asked for and were always willing to help.

Negative: a few things were missing from the accommodation. Nothing critical, but things such as a coffee pot, coffee spoons and body soap in the bathroom would be nice to have available. Of course, whenever we asked for these items, the hosts happily provided them right away, which we very appreciated.

Positive: The family running the villas were super friendly and communicating with us throughout the whole time. It was our fault for probably heading there at the wrong time of year as nothing else in town was really open and it rained most of the time! However we were able to order yummy and well priced food brought to our room from their own menu for dinner and breakfast was included! So it turned into a nice little retreat despite not really having any activities to do.

Positive: The location was great — right next to the departure point for the Shala River boat tour. The cabin was pleasant, though a bit small. Breakfast was limited, with a modest selection.

Negative: The owner was a relative of the boat operator. Before our arrival, we communicated with him via WhatsApp. He asked for €30 per person for the boat trip, while the regular price was €20. He claimed his price was higher because his boat was faster. In reality, everyone was placed on the same boat, and others who joined the trip paid a lower price 25 euro or less. In addition, he assured us that the tour was still running as usual for the season and that we would return by 3 PM. In practice, due to low water levels in the river, it was impossible to navigate through the shallow areas, so the operators had to transfer people multiple times using small boats. We eventually returned only at 6 PM, which disrupted our plans. On top of all that, he demanded cash payment for both the accommodation and the boat trip — a requirement that was not mentioned in the Booking.com listing.
