Positive: The accommodation was within walking distance of the metro (2 stations). The room was really small (but the bathroom was quite big). A small fridge and kettle were in the room - that's nice. Self check in without any problems.

Positive: Awesome location, like 4 minute walk from Dongdaemun metro station, easy to travel around. Great communication on codes and everything, I really appreciated the owners! No bad blood towards them.

Negative: I want to be fair and say that I might have misunderstood originally, and that might be my fault. But the budget room was really disappointing. It is literally the size of a Japanese-style capsule, but with headroom to stand up. That is to say, it's just a closet. I was really disappointed when I opened the door and saw that to enter my "room" (it's the size of a closet), I had to step directly on my "bed", which was literally just a cushioned pad right on the ground. It felt pretty nasty. No space for bags or shoes, so I had to set them right on top of my floor pad thing where I slept. Also, they had some tiny hooks on the wall, but most were already broken off because they aren't strong enough to hold more than a shirt. Super cramped. However, I want to be fair and say that it might be hard to get a place outside of a hostel for $30USD in Seoul, so maybe this is still the right option for you. The owners seem like fine people, and it's probably my fault for not understanding the budget room, so no bad blood towards them. One last thing: I thought it was insane that they literally had posted the door code to the hotel OUTSIDE the door on the street. How is that safe??? Just put it in the private check in email. I know you have your personal room code too, but still. If you get a NOT budget room, I'm sure it'll be great! Just make sure you order one of the nicer rooms, and it'll be a great experience!
