Positive: A quiet beautiful location by the lake. Our room was clean. The bed was nice and firm (something I personally prefer). The bathroom was lovely and clean as well. We had a beautiful lake view from the room. Joanne made us muffins and was more than happy to cater to our dietary restrictions. When discussing our plan for a walk in the morning, she offered we could take her dog, too. We were more than happy to bring Merlin along!

Negative: We had a lovely time, however, I think bringing up political topics at breakfast was perhaps not the best idea. Especially since as a guest service you will bring in people from all kinds of backgrounds - perhaps those that don't align with your own views.

Positive: The view of Glen Lake was lovely and we were able to charge our e-bikes in the back of the house. The house was right on the Galloping Goose Trail so very convenient for cyclists. Our host Joanne was very nice, shared a bottle of wine with us and made a good gluten free breakfast. The shared bath was clean.

Negative: The house was cluttered, smelled of dog, ( although a nice dog). Our host asked us to stay in a different room as another couple wanted to stay a second night. We were supposed to have the Queen room but the other room was a full bed with a saggy mattress. The bedside table was covered with dust and the carpet appeared to have not been vacuumed. The Queen room looked bigger and nicer with a sitting area.

Summary: One night was okay, I wouldn’t choose to stay again,

Positive: The B&B is right on the lovely Glen Lake. After gazing at it during breakfast, I had to go for a swim. It was refreshing and rejuvenating. The Galloping Goose trail is right outside, so bring your walking shoes or bikes. The breakfast was also lovely: homemade granola, seasonal fruit salad, and muffins, along with Avalon organic milk for the coffee or tea, and yoghurt. A number of ingredients came right from the property: blackberries, grapes, and the eggs for the muffins. Talk about locally sourced! The shower is strong and the bathroom floor, heated. There’s a full length mirror (very helpful in getting ready for the wedding).

Negative: The common area was cluttered and the outside rough. If you book the room with the bathroom, just be aware that it is in the bedroom with a half wall separating it from the bed.

Negative: When I first got there the room wasn’t clean there was still dirty towels in the basket from the previous quest and the toilet sink and shower is 5 feet from the bed and not in a separate room either
