Positive: Location was great, breakfast was lovely, staff were more than helpful. It was lovely to spend my 60th birthday here.

Negative: Lift very small and struggled to get husbands mobility scooter into it, although I know this can't be helped for an old hotel

Positive: Excellent central location within walking distance of the station. The hotel was lovely and warm in all locations and very clean. All the staff did their best to be helpful. The food was good - both at breakfast and in the bar, where we had dinner on the first night. The main part of the hotel is clearly an old building but I felt it was good that whilst the amenities were modern, the public areas had retained their history, which gave the hotel its charm. The bed was very comfortable and it was lovely to be able to open the window to allow in some air whilst sleeping.

Negative: I had a small double room which, whilst comfortable, meant that space was limited and there was nowhere to put my case. I had to work from it on the floor. A collapsible case stand would have been helpful to save me bending and to maximise the floor space..

Summary: An excellent mid range hotel that made for a comfortable stay in Carlisle.

Positive: Very clean, very Porsche and shiny really like the stairs at reception going up to the rooms really Porsche bedrooms were nice and clean and nice fresh towels and the breakfast is good value for money you got a Buffy breakfast English fry up cereal, toast, coffee, and tea it was only £10.50 for breakfast it’s staff at reception really kind and made you feel welcome

Negative: There was nothing wrong with the hotel. It was really good value for money. I would stay here again. I would recommend this to others to stay here.

Positive: Rooms and decor were a little in need of refurbishment and modernising. Evening meal was excellent, breakfast was plain and simple but cooked breakfast was poor with a very greasy tasteless sausage and dry bacon
