Positive: The cottage was beautiful, set just inside the gate from the road. This had no impact on the privacy of the property. There is everything you need provided for you. I took tea towels and the such, but they were all there. There’s a lovely little log burner on the corner of the living area. I hope to return in the winter so we can use it. The welcome information is vey well written and easy to follow. I found it particularly useful for the hob. it was hot when we visited and had all the windows open when we were in. This was not a problem and did not affect the peaceful quietness we wanted. Even being by the road we did not hear the traffic that is about one car every 5 to 10 minutes. The outside area is set out beautifully and it was lovely to sit out and just pass the time. From the sofa you can see the Mendip hills and sometimes a Row deer or two wandering in the field opposite. For a couple wanting to explore the local area or just have a few nights away it’s a great place to stay. Something to look out for are the mice. Not actual mice, just fun ones.

Summary: Fantastic stone cottage, just the place for a couple to get away from it all.

Positive: The host went over and above there hospitality, there was milk and biscuits ready for you. It had everything you need for a quiet holiday for a couple. Secure garden for the dog and car. Log burner for a romantic night in and great location, you can walk from the cottage to Crooks peak with panoramic views.

Negative: It was heated with night storage heaters which are difficult to get right if it gets warmer quickly in the daytime, not really a problem.
