Summary: The house was great. Located well and decorated very nicely. You could tell a lot of detail and thought went into the decor inside and out. The property was directly on the canal and the outdoors area, such as the small dock and the porch area were great. The place deserves a 5 rating for all but one thing for us. We were to stay one night only. It was to be cold that night and evening. We had set heat/thermostat for 76 degrees when we left and apparently only the AC worked. It was 62 degrees in the house when we returned, and we could not get the heat to come on. We ended up turning the system off. We contacted the host at 8:15, received a quick reply to send a photo of the thermostat. I messaged back asking how to get the photos to the host. No reply. Finally, someone from the "team" texted me at 10:00 basically letting me know that there was nothing to be done that night. We slept without heat for the night which was not pleasant. That said that sort of thing happens, and the property is nice. One other quick thing was the ad hoc fire pit. There were probably 20 cigarette butts in the fire pit. Cleaning people need to check all areas. Make sure that smokers, which we are not, has a place to dispose of butts. The inside was spotless and well cleaned so just future attention to details. We will probably stay again since we have business in the area 3 or 4 times per year. The setting was beautiful.
