Positive: Having a parking lot right in front of the house was an undeniable advantage, and I also liked that it was close to the seaside. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed for cooking, which I really appreciated since it allowed us to prepare our own meals if we wanted to. The host’s responses were quick both on the check-in day and during our stay.

Negative: However, there were a few downsides. As soon as we entered the building, there was a strong, musty smell like that of a damp basement in an old building. A similar smell seemed to come from the bathroom as well. Our accommodation was on the second floor, and the staircase was very narrow—only wide enough for one person to pass at a time. I think it would be quite inconvenient if you had a lot of luggage or a stroller. Another thing I found disappointing was the lack of clear information about waste separation. It would have been nice if detailed recycling instructions were posted on the wall inside the house. I heard that waste sorting is quite strict in Belgium, but there was only one black trash bin without any color-coded bags, which was unfortunate. Also, there were no curtains or blinds on the glass door leading to the living room balcony, so when the indoor lights were on, everything inside was visible from outside. The side window in the living room also had no curtain, which was another drawback. Lastly, at night, there was a rattling noise coming from somewhere near the room with the bunk bed on the second floor. If you’re sensitive to noise, it might be difficult to get a good night’s sleep because the sound continued throughout the night.

Positive: Location is perfect for a beach getaway. Very quiet, residential area. Easy and free parking available close to the apartment. Well stocked supermarket within walking distance. Julie was very flexible accommodating an early check-in and extra bed sheets. She also provided clear instructions and was readily available for any questions and follow-ups. The apartment is modern and is well stocked, equipped with all amenities and kitchenware.

Negative: The staircase leading to the apartment is very narrow making it difficult to transport larger and heavy items.

Positive: The apartment was large, spacious, clean, and bright. The walk to the beach was also very short, and the apartment is located in a very quiet residential area. It was great that my dog (a Golden Retriever) was allowed to come along—even without an extra fee!

Negative: A minor downside was that the bath towels had a slightly musty smell.
