Need a break from reality? Are the mountains calling you for a quiet, peaceful getaway? Time for a sabbatical? Goal setting retreat? Girls weekend? Just the 2 of you? Whether you are traveling alone or as a group, come rejuvenate in our tranquil little cottage with the lake views and beautiful mountain setting where birds sing and squirrels run.
At Morning Glory Cottage (3 bed, 2 bath, maximum capacity 6) you can enjoy the quiet sunrises from our full-length screen porch. In the evening take a short walk to experience the sun setting across the Nantahala National Forest and finish the evening enjoying the outdoor firepit, indoor wood-burning fireplace or our favorite quiet conversation on the screen porch.
The main level has one step from the driveway into the house for easy access for limited mobility guests. Main level features 2 bedrooms (1 king and 1 queen) and a full bath with walk-in shower. Perfect for guests of all ages and physical abilities. The main level also has a fully-stocked kitchen, dining area for 6 and den with wood-burning fireplace and gas starter! (Firewood available seasonally.)
The best part is full-length screened porch with treehouse year-round views of Lake Hiawasee and Nantahala mountains. The lower level features a large media room with game table, master bedroom (king) and full bath with walk-in shower and claw-foot tub, laundry room and access to full-length covered porch with more lake and mountain views.
Morning Glory Cottage is in the Bear Paw Community of Lake Hiwassee where North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia come together (not to be confused with the town of Hiawassee, Georgia on Lake Chatuge). We are 30 minutes west of Murphy, North Carolina and a 2 hour drive from Atlanta GA, Chattanooga TN, Knoxville TN and Asheville NC.

Summary: This is an ideal home for family and friends with complete amenities for everyone’s comfort. The porch was a favorite to hang out listening to nature and music. The lake made a beautiful view with the sunrise and sunset. Definitely want to stay again. Sheree is a wonderful host as we arrived early and she was very accommodating. Thank you dear lady!

Summary: I’ve been traveling to the N Ga Mountains for years and never knew about this community. I would advise anyone who wants some peace and quiet to choose your cabin. The views are beautiful, both inside and out. The description and pictures given in the listing do not bring justice to what your eyes will see. My family and I look forward to returning.

Summary: We loved Morning Glory! It is in a secluded community on the Hiwassee Lake. The cabin had everything that you need to enjoy during your stay. My parents and our son took the main level bedrooms and my husband and I stayed in the basement. The furnishings are nice and there are 2 large TVs in living areas with streaming service. My son watched Netflix downstairs while we enjoyed TV upstairs. The screened in porch is the jewel of the property! We sat out there enjoying the peace and quiet most of the time. It's a tree house view of the woods and lake. There are cabins on both sides but there are nice curtains to pull across the end for privacy. We brought our dog with us so we walked up and down the road multiple times a day with her. We saw rabbits and deer daily and the sunsets at the top of the hill are amazing! The downstairs bedroom had plenty of space for her large crate and we enjoyed being able to come into the house thru the screened porch with her. The kitchen has everything except for your food. We knew that Murphey is about a 40 minute drive so running to the grocery store wasn't convenient. We brought everything with us and cooked every night. The pool was awesome and had plenty of chairs. It did end up closed for maintenance the last couple of days so I'm glad we went at the 1st of the week. We had a great time and hope to return in the future. The owners were easy to contact and very nice. Morning Glory is a wonderful place!

Summary: The listing is not joking when it says it's 40 minutes from everything. It is DEEP in the Bear Paw community, sitting almost at the very top of a gorgeous mountainside. The cabin itself is very quiet and secluded, with a super clean, homey feel. Sheree and their partner(s) were very responsive to all our questions and we never had a single issue with anything. If you are looking for a relaxing mountain getaway with a very nice view, I would highly recommend this place. If we return to the Murphy area, I know where I'm looking first!

Summary: We enjoyed the Morning Glory cottage. The bed and furniture was comfy, everything was clean and as promised and the view from the porches was amazing. Host was quick to respond and helpful. Property was pretty remote but in a nice gated community, Roads to home were narrow and curvy. Be prepared.
